This is our second visit to the hotel. First time with our new born. Pre-paid for early check in. Room was ready which was handy, however no attempt from the receptionist at building a rapport or telling us information about the hotel unless we asked. Being a hotel receptionist myself I thought this was a shame that a good opportunity was missed to get to know a guest and make them feel welcome. Unfortunately this was the same on departure too 😔 One of our requests on reservation was that a travel cot was needed. This was eventually brought to the room after asking reception 3 times. Despite having a ‘restricted view’ room was a good size even with a cot set up, with a comfortable bed. Would be nice if decaff tea was on offer inside the rooms. Breakfast was good quality and up to standards- we were greeted with a smile and warm welcome (morning of 10/11) very polite gentleman, nothing was too much trouble. Looking forward to staying again. Would be nice if the restaurant/bar had more choice on the menu to suit all palettes.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Room very clean and comfortable. Evening meal we thought was exceptional as were the choices at breakfast. We found the staff very approachable and helpful. The parking fee of £15 per day was reasonable, parking fees are payable wherever you are in that area. It was worth paying to know our vehicle was left in a safe area. Can't wait to return.

Exceptional seafront stay

Beautifully modern hotel with a lovely view of the seafront. All the staff we met were attentive and friendly, check-in was swift and our room was stunning, huge bed and lovely view out of the massive floor to ceiling window. The room AC worked perfectly allowing us to set the exact temp, shower was hot and with good pressure. Nice touches in the room like the coffee machine and fridge. Breakfast was great, good selection of food and all presented very well. Overall a very nice stay and we will definitely book the Mercure again when visiting the English Riviera.

Overall a good experience. Had an issue when arrived as the room had not been hoovered properly as lots of dust and dog hair on the carpet but called reception and was sorted promptly. Also one lift was still out of order and looking at previous reviews this has been out for some time leaving only one working lift. Otherwise a nice room with good view and nice atmosphere in the bar and restaurant. Parking is too expensive in my opinion.
