Rooms were comfortable. Had an aircon issue with one room which was attended to straight away. Really liked the bed made and fresh towels every day.

Easy access to checking in, and checking out and very convenient when roaming around the city since the hotel is so close.

Checked in for the NRL Grand final. Very handy location close to Central Station to hop on train to stadium! Super quiet location also.

Everything was fine

We recently stayed at ibis Styles Sydney and, unfortunately, while there were some positives, there were also a number of issues throughout our stay that made the experience more frustrating than it should have been. Check-in: The receptionist was doing her best to assist us, and I appreciated that she was able to resolve the issue with our rooms being on separate floors. I had specifically requested that our two rooms be adjoining or at least on the same floor, but initially they had been allocated on different floors. The receptionist managed to “upgrade” the rooms and get us onto the same floor, which was appreciated. However, there was some confusion with our booking and I was initially told I would need to pay for one of the rooms, despite having already paid for both rooms in full. Once the booking was checked, it was confirmed that I had in fact already paid. There was a similar issue with the bedding for our four-year-old. When booking, I had provided the ages of all guests, including our four-year-old, but there was no clear indication that a suitable bed for him would incur an additional $89 charge. When I contacted reception, I was offered a baby cot free of charge, but obviously that isn’t suitable for a four-year-old. As a result, our son had to sleep in our bed. Room condition: Both rooms were generally okay, but the bathroom in our room was disappointing. There was visible dirt, mould and cracked tiles, which I don’t believe is acceptable for a 3.5-star hotel operating under the Accor group. I have attached photos showing the condition of the bathroom. I would expect better maintenance and cleanliness standards. Breakfast: Breakfast itself was good, although a few items needed replenishing, which is understandable during a busy breakfast service. The entrance process was unnecessarily confusing, though. We followed another family through what appeared to be the entrance to the breakfast area via the bar. That family was allowed through, but when we followed, we were stopped by a server and told, rather rudely, that we had entered through the wrong entrance and needed to go back around to the main entrance, which was only about 10 metres away. We did so, only to be greeted by the same server at the main entrance, who simply checked our names off the list and let us in. It seemed like an unnecessary interaction that could have been handled much more politely. Check-out: Unfortunately, the same issue happened again at check-out. I was told I needed to pay for parking, despite parking already being paid for and included in our booking. Once the booking was checked, it was confirmed that I had already paid. Overall, the biggest frustration was the repeated confusion around charges. On multiple occasions—at check-in, when arranging the child’s bedding, and again at check-out—it felt as though we were being asked to pay additional amounts before the booking was properly checked. While each issue was eventually resolved, it made the stay feel unnecessarily difficult and left us questioning whether our booking had actually been reviewed properly. There were certainly positives, including the receptionist who helped move our rooms onto the same floor and the generally good breakfast, but I would expect a smoother experience and better attention to booking details and room maintenance from an Accor property. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, particularly regarding the repeated payment issues and the condition of the bathroom.

The bed was comfortable, staff very friendly and hospitable. Central location easy access, in walking distance to shops. Definitely will be recommending your hotel to Family and Friends.

Extra costs which I was not aware of. Not prepared for our needs. Rooms not ready for our children. I will not stay here again. I was told we had to pay more for the beds of the children- that we had booked for - to be made. Linen was not provided. Sofa beds were not folded out. We came in off the late train with an expected early morning departure. 3 times I requested bedding. Once on the phone & twice in person. Towels were not provided for the children. Fridges (we had booked 2 rooms) had not been turned on. Milk was only provided in one room.

We paid around $900 for a 2-night stay and unfortunately had a really disappointing experience, mainly because the air conditioning in our room was not working properly. We initially left the aircon set to 16°C and went out for around six hours. When we came back, the room was still warm and extremely humid. We contacted reception and had someone come to check it. They confirmed there was an issue with the aircon and turned it off and back on. It seemed to work for about five minutes, so we went to bed. At around 2am, we woke up sweating because the room had become hot and humid again. We contacted reception once more, and another staff member came up and again simply turned the aircon off and back on. A third time, the exact same thing happened. It wasn’t until the following morning, after speaking to staff again, that we were finally moved to another room with working air conditioning. We appreciated finally being moved, but it should not have taken multiple complaints and an uncomfortable night before a proper solution was offered. What made the experience even more frustrating was realising that we had paid around $900 for two nights, while on the day we noticed rooms being advertised for around $150 per night. Paying such a high price and then having to spend a night in a hot, humid room with faulty air conditioning was extremely disappointing. I’m glad we were eventually given another room, but overall this was not the experience we expected for the amount we paid. Unfortunately, I would be hesitant to stay here again.

Very conveniently located close to Central Station and within walking distance of many sights. Clean, comfortable and good service.

It was lovely to spend 4 nights here again, the rooms were extremely comfortable and inviting. The bar restaurant offered a great selection of food and drinks.

There was no hot water both nights when I needed to shower. I was told it was being repaired, but the issue was not resolved, so I couldn’t shower.

A great location but a disappointing stay. Not value for money.

The hotel is well located but that was pretty much the only good thing. The room was dirty. The carpet clearly had never been cleaned as it was full of other people's hair. The room was also worn out. The staff was not very friendly. Definitely not value for money and we would not come back.

The staff were amazing from the first interaction. Helpful, friendly. The room was beautiful and clean. Spacious and perfect for our trip. Booked at the very last minute, very thankful we were accommodation so quickly.

We well looked after, food was great especially breaking.

Always a pleasure

When I booked I asked for room with a connecting door. When we checked in I was told we had a connecting door. No we did not, so down to the desk and again asked for a room with a connecting door which we got but it was locked. I went to the desk and asked that it be unlocked, no problem, it will be done today, in fact I asked every day the same question and the door was never unlocked. Seems strange that where ever we go and stay in Australia, the bathroom basin plus is missing, such a waste of water, running the water whilst bathing. Again I asked for a plug for the basin, every day I asked and no plug. Then we come to breakfast. Very nice breakfast but had to eat with a knife as there were no forks. Asked about the forks? They were being cleaned. Nice clean and quiet hotel and friendly staff.
