Pretentious, Worn out, slept on the floor

If you like old tired beds with divots wher the last 1000 peoples bodies has been you will love it. Slept on the floor for 2 nights as the mattresses are super old All the pillows feel like a meter high so haf to use rolled up towels as pillows. Staff ignored my request about air conditioning leaking onto the floor in the room and didn't care about a blown light either Not worth anywhere near the money, best get an airbnb nearby.

Friendly staff and clean rooms

I booked the Superior King for 4 nights. It was a very basic room but good for the price. Care was taken to make up the sofa into a nice double bed for my son. Fresh towels and face washers were provided daily. It said there were laundry facilities so I went to do a load of washing thinking it would be included but it was $4 to wash and $4 to dry which felt a bit stingy. All the staff were very nice and helpful. The attached restaurant was handy with tired children to get back quickly for dinner and very yummy but on the pricey side for meals. The buffet breakfast each morning was good value and good variety though. I will definitely stay again but in a room more suited for sharing as it was just a bit small when the couch was used as a bed. Thanks for a great week away

Basic accommodation, not luxury by any means!

This is not a Peppers of old, it’s trimmed down to the basics. No nuts, chips, not even bottled water in the room, and its supposed to be a premium room! The design of the place is complicated and getting around it is not easy. I noticed some people needed assistance to locate their rooms. To go to the restaurant you must go outside in the weather, rain or not. Car parking for 50 +cars but one small lift from the carpark? My wife and I chose a premium room expecting some extra comfort ( as the adverts suggest) with a lounge and dining table, but whilst clean was very basic, certainly no luxury. We have stayed at various Peppers for 25 years since they started and have watched the brand descend to the old Travelodge standard. Sure the soap is good quality , although only with dispensers, no more bars of soap for those who prefer to use them. Toilet paper is cheap and towels similar. Internet available but not offered at Reception on checkin. No in-room information on local activities, shops etc. No apple, Newspaper, nothing. The main plus is the food, the restaurant is good, although more a cafe than fine dining, but service and quality were very good. Position is good and if you are into basic clean accommodation this is it, but, if you want some luxury, forget it.

Great location in the middle of the village with the trees in full autumn colour. Rooms and facilities modern and comfortable. The local staff were great. We had Rebecca at reception and Georgia and Matt in the bar who not only mixed up some delightful cocktails but were very helpful in planning our days with either a drive, walk or longer hike. The restaurant offered local food which was very nice, though access to the restaurant/bar was a short walk down the road.

Not so great.

Room was extremely small, and the bathroom floor waste drain has no water trap so the bathroom smells like sewer it’s fairly disgusting. The facilities aren’t that great but the restaurant isn’t too bad, which is good because there isn’t a lot of options in town. The town itself is very nice and worth a visit.
