My husband and I have just returned from the Mercure hotel benidorm Relaxed and rejuvenated from a wonderful 4 night stay at this calming tranquil hotel in the heart of old town benidorm A few minutes walk to the beautiful beach and a short 10/15 minute walk to the old town with it's shops bars tapas alley ect The hotel was a pleasure to stay in with a beautiful luxury 7th floor room with great views every aspect of the room was perfect for us with louisia the maid a joy and asset to the hotel in our opinion always smiling and happy which was a pleasure to witness Also rossia (sorry if spelling incorrect) on reception another smiling happy member of staff that assisted us with a very professional attitude when checking us in and a slight problem was addressed very promptly so thank you it was very much appreciated The pool area is stunning not quite warm enough in January for swimming but we did get one morning of really warm sunshine and the sun terrace and sunbeds was a delight to relax The restaurant was also very airy and a delight to eat here breakfast had a very wide choice to cater for every taste hot/cold buffet on offer plus much more fruit pastries cereal ect ect Evening meal was also a lovely choice of cuisine on offer One slight feedback to management is if there could be warming station for plates or a microwave as some dishes was tepid so not as enjoyable as they could have been Bar prices was also very reasonable which was nice if you dint want to go out after dinner to relax in the hotel bar which had a nice atmosphere So to conclude a fantastic stay and yes we would definitely recommend and have already booked to return same time next January before we'd even left ..,. Think that tells you a lot thanks again Mercure hotel and all the staff for a wonderful stay Victoria

Recently returned for a lovely 8 day stay at Mercure Benidorm Although I have given a 5 rating ...a few minor niggles first then the positives Food both breakfast and dinner was tepid and needs to be warmer and this was opinion of everyone I made friends with. I had breakfast and dinner and whilst a wonderful continental selection at breakfast... pastries cold cuts cheeses yoghurts and much more ...the hot items ... scrambled eggs need to be cooked longer to firm them up.. and the omelettes were too thin and should be thick and fluffy. Fix this and it will be perfect! However the fried eggs and Spanish bacon and either rosti potatoes or hash browns all cooked to perfection ...perhaps some tomatoes or tinned tomatoes would be an idea? Dinner was certainly a more Spanish and Mediterranean affair but for me this was ideal as I always loved the vast choice of tapas and Spanish dishes on offer. Some evenings though Lasagne and Moussaka on offer was absolutely delicious ... no one will ever go hungry...best tip is do not expect typical British food and you will be fine...there was always show cooking with meat and fish. I had a privilege room on 7th floor and this was beautifully appointed with bathrobes slippers water and much more....certainly worth the supplement I thought....just one thing ..please put cups or mugs in bedrooms to use with the kettle as not everyone will use the Nespresso coffee maker. Bed was extremely comfortable and probably the quietest room I have ever had in Spain...I do wonder of they are totally sound proofed when the Hotel underwent a complete refurbishment Hotel was spotlessly clean throughout and bedroom kept immaculate daily Location is a 5 minute walk to beautiful Poniente beach and a further 10 minute walk to the gorgeous old town . The area of the Hotel gives you a far better Spanish experience and for me this is much better than the noisy Levante area and will delight those looking for a more authentic side to the resort. Perfect. Buses are readily available very close by for new town if you wish in one direction and the fabulous La Marina Shopping Mall in the other direction. Staff all very pleasant and helpful which created a lovely calm atmosphere. Pool area is stunning and the unique layout makes for a very private sunbathing experience and again really calm and soothing area to sit or lie out.

A beautiful hotel, that allows you to relax to the max. It is situated in a great part of the old town. Easy access to beach, bars, restaurants and the beautiful Old Town. Buses on the doorstep and taxis. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Will hopefully come again.
