Not bad for a budget hotel. SGP hotels are expensive in general, so to be able to have somewhere that is not a dive, is a positive. The hotel is basic, cant raise expectations. The heat can be an issue though. My fridge was small but did the job, would have like to have had more drinks to keep me cool. The area is not a tourist hotspot but still good to mix with the locals.

The Ibis Budget Emerald Hotel is 90% less to pay the than the Marina Bay Sands Hotel for the obvious. This is budget but very functional as a place to get your head down at night after exploring Singapores many wonderful sites & eating out at some of the best street food outlets in the world. The rooms are clean, air conditioned, cleaned everyday (if you wish) . No food is served on site, but is very close to Geylang Rd & the plethora of restaurants that serve all variety of Asian cuisine day & night. The area is a bit seedy, but for the savvy traveller, this isn't a problem , more of an adventure. Totally enjoyed my short time here & would possibly use again if coming to Singapore.

(1) limited space to put baggage. (2) Suitable to one person staying. (3) TV channel selection is limited. (4) Lack of Wardrobe and refrigerator. it is not convenient especially when you want to stay for more than 3 days. (5) Lack of hotel safe. (6) Chair is not comfortable.

Singapore is an urban city facing land scarcity issue and taking into consideration the high real estate prices, many accommodation providers are hence designing rooms which are compact in size, but offers a delightful environment without compromising comfort for the guest. As the majority of the hotel guests would be spending their entire day out of the hotel exploring the city sights they would consider the hotel TV programmes as secondary entertainment. Our hotel is renovated with a modern, open concept without closets as most travellers now do not require them. Refrigerators are available at our higher-tier rooms and there is a safe box in all of our rooms. The Hotel Team looks forward to be of service to you again. It is what it is. Rooms are bare bones but functional, and importantly clean. Bed and linen are serviceable at best, the curtain barely keeps the light out and it’s not quiet either from the street or other guests. But it’s a budget place and it does the job.

Good place to sleep at budget cost

It is probably not the best hotel in Singapore, but for a "budget" range it is certainly a hotel to recommend. The welcome was very pleasant and the person at the counter gave us a lot of information. They kindly lent us 2 umbrellas for 3 days without us having to pay anything. The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from the metro stop that serves the city center. 50 meters from the hotel, you will find dozens of restaurants or small local shops. The room was clean, the air conditioning worked, although it is quite old and difficult to adjust. The towels are soft and the shower products are of fairly good quality. So, for a reduced budget in Singapore, this seems to me a very, very good compromise for sleeping.
