Great welcome at ground floor. Consistent professional and pleasant. Front desk check-in was abrupt and aloof. And continued to be so. Here are some feedback points....considering you are rated 5-star on ALL. Room (superior room harbourside) was adequate. A bit small for two people, and difficult to maintain space if travelling with a medium sized suitcase. My welcome amenity (as a Platinum member) was not addressed to me at all.. it had someones elses name on the card. But delicious nevertheless. Powerpoints (not many within reach) were not international Amenities (toothbrush, womens needs, cotton buds etc) were not available in-room; and had to be requested - and charged for!!! I understand the law on single use plastics etc... so invest in bamboo derived sustainable options and provide as a courtesy. Light blinds (not black out blinds) had water stains throughout. Breakfast standard was poor...more like a 3.5 / 4 star hotel. Even a la carte option did not appear to really use quality ingredients/ freshly prepared. Some of the wait staff were also abrupt and not very attentive. Additionally clearing tables.... staff would take plates and scrape leftovers on to other plates and even more plates in front of other diners... not the standards of a 5 star. However some of the other staff were friendly and very professional and helpful. So just needs some consistency in training and team member standards. Bookin process. I did so through the ALL App, and when I went to book. All i could do was make the reservation. It wasnt until the day before checking in, that I received an email saying that my reservation wasnt confirmed as no credit card details were provided, so a credit card was needed to secure booking. It may have been the wording, or perhaps lack of understanding. But that concerned me greatly and I called and emailed immediately. But to have that done a day before check-in, and as an international traveller. Was disturbing. So the operating procedures need a review there. What I did like was... the location, the bathrooms and bed comfort, the Malin + Goetz amenities, complimentary softdrinks (as Platinum), coffee & tea facilities, the room view. I also liked a lot...the email from teh hotel acknowledging my ALL status, and confirming my benefits. That was the first time a hotel has done that for my bookings.. and it was really very helpful.. please keep this up! Checkout was also very smooth, and the staff member handling that was the first front desk staff that came across friendly and helpful. However, I would have to say that I am not likely to book the hotel again. My stay just didnt seem special or even 'comfortable'.

The check-in process is terrible. I arrived around 1 pm. The hotel said the check-in time is 3pm. Front-desk asked me to pay the room charge, but I already paid online. If I didn't notice this problem, it's gonna cost me double the price. When I wait until 3 pm and asked the front desk again. He said the room cleaning is finished and the final check will be complete in 15min. However the check in was finally completed around 4pm. I understand the large demand, but the hotel should inform guest earlier about the late check-in. I waste my 1 hour in the lobby. The most disappointing thing is that they charge $10 HKD for the toothpaste, and I never saw such policy in any other hotel. It's a luxury hotel right? By the way, the food provided in room service is terrible. The choice is limited and the price is high.
