I only stayed one night at this hotel (on Business) and whilst the Hotel staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful, the hotel itself felt a little tired . It was clear to see that some refurbishment had already taken place, but unfortunately for me the Hotel still felt a little 'tire / dated' '. The food in the Restaurant was good quality but the menu was fairly limited . I was put in a room (20) that was adapted for disabled people, which is not my preferred choice

Hotel staff were excellent. Friendly, professional and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, special thanks to the hotel manager and housekeeping for decorating the wedding party room. Restaurant food was also good in the evening. Bed comfy, big shower and water pressure great. Coffee machine in room but no instructions how to use. No cups. Had to empty a paper cup which contained lots of sachets of tea, coffee etc to be able to use. No milk. However what really spoilt the visit were the guests in the room next door. Woken up at 12 am with a party going on in the room next door. Walls to the room were so thin, the music and shouting really loud, lots of door slamming and people running up and down the corridor. This went on until approx 3 am. No phone in room so couldn’t call reception for assistance. Not great as a lone female guest. I appreciate that the hotel can’t control the behaviour of guests but a phone in the room would have alleviated the issue if I could have called for help.

The room was large, clean and comfortable. The shower was spacious and easy to use. Staff were friendly and helpful. Everything we needed was provided. Parking was a lovely bonus! Very good value for money.

Hotel is not up to standard. Room was nice. First room on arrival had broken aircon unit that rattled noisily, staff tried to turn it off but were unable. No room phones so had to go down 3 floors each time to ask reception. Was moved to another room, someone was in it! Finally moved to a decent room. Key card locked me out of my room twice during a 2 day stay, each time you have to go back downstairs due to no phones to reception. Overall staff very friendly but hotel is poor quality and overpriced.

Staying 3 nights at this hotel has always been a nice experiance. The staff are so welcoming and informative The breakfast is alway nice with a good selection. The cleaners do a wounderful job on the room its always spotless. Lastly the bed is always so comfy and cozy .

Amazing and very helpful staff!! Had small issues with key card, but staff couldn't be more helpful!! Can't remember the names, sorry :) breakfast buffet has lots of choice even black pudding was!! Steaks were amazing and met everyone's expectations!!! Compliments to the chef!!

Staff all friendly and helpful breakfast was good the room was clean and modern but overlooking the flat roof at the rear of the hotel and very noisy from the road not very good for a holiday break but probably ok if you just need overnight stay if you are working

Bed was huge and comfortable, breakfast was nice. Our chair was broken, no Bluetooth speaker as promised, no water and fruit juice as promised, no cups for making drinks in the room, evening meal not as described and only ok for the price. We had to search round and help ourselves to what we needed but had no info on arrival that that would be the case. No phone in the room so had to keep going down to the entrance to ask questions. Confusing signage - stay left on one side and stay right on the other ! Staff couldn’t understand why this was an issue. Asked to sanitise hands before using the lift but no sanitiser around. Room was very smelly when we arrived and took several hours for issues to be dealt with. We chose this hotel despite being pricy because of the extras and were disappointed with the lack of information on arrival and during the stay. When we asked staff about issues they continually blamed covid but 18 months into a global pandemic there has been ample time to iron out problems and to change information on the website when booking.

The staff were very friendly, so cannot fault their sweetness. The food was also very good. However, the hotel is in desperate need of a serious update. Our air-conditioning unit worked for about a minute and then water started pouring out of it, so we had to turn it off... it dripped all night. We had already got into bed and it was 11:30pm so we were not about to get up, get dressed and venture off to find a maintenance person... When we told the staff about it in the morning, they said sorry, but no offer of any compensation or even a free cup of coffee. They asked us why we didn't send a text message to them to tell them... We said we were not aware that there was a 'text message number' and it was late... All in all, I would not recommend this hotel. Stay at a Premier Inn so you know what you're getting.

2 nights..... both nights we experienced noisy guests in corridor one night someone making a phone call at 3am loud enough to wake us and the next night people talking, swearing and laughing loud at 5:30am. Not good.

Check in was good and hotel is great location, but upon on 3rd day I requested my room to be clean in the morning when I was leaving with my family the reception lady said it will be done and when we came back room was not done and again I went to reception to complaint and the guy on reception no apologies and said let me check and went to back office that's all, on the following morning again I went to reception and said please can I get my room to be clean and the lady wrote my room number on paper and said to me will be done and again when I came back it wasn't done and I went back to the reception and complaint and explained the same and they said ooh will be done for so we have to wait until its done to go back to rooms. The breakfast on the following day was nit good I mean the egg was solid hard you can even chew I have told the lady she said we are closing the restaurant I am sorry not even offered I can get a frsh for you or anything to make us feel we are looked after but nothing and we were upset with experience we had, please look into this smell issue I know the team can make people feel special when you have guest came to your hotel.

Corridors needed cleaning

Reception fine, staff friendly. Room ok but not cleaned/ no towel change during stay/ only paper cups for tea/ coffee. Corridors were not clean, carpet needed hoovering, room service food/ dishes left outside rooms on all floors for prolonged periods. Piles of dirty laundry ( sheets/ towels) at foot of the stairs for the two days we were there.

Overall stay ok, but, we had a room on first floor on the front . There were no nets/ blinds at windows so we were not able to open curtains unless fully dressed. Also overall noise in hotel and from road was worse than expected and did disrupt sleep

This is one of the really good Mercure Hotels, even with the Covid restrictions. The staff were really friendly, the room was clean and comfortable. Parking is free, which was a real plus. Will definitely return - thank you.
