A few homeless looking folks sitting around out front across the street (8:30 PM) made us wonder if it was a safe area. We met a fella the next day cleaning up litter who directed us to historic society and offered any kind of info we needed. Very nice host and he was proud of his city. Enjoyed Don Knots statue! Great dinner and drinks across the street. Great Bar tender. Hotel was clean and AC was great! The pillows were great!

Anticipation Gone Wrong

I had previously stayed at your location approximately 3 years ago and was excited to stay again. I shared with several of my colleagues how much I enjoyed this unique experience and why we should select this hotel over others. We met first for a business dinner and I had my secretary call to confirm our reservations. Approximately, an hour later we arrived and to my disappointment(and embarrassment) the front desk clerk tried to tell me I didn't have a room--she went so far as to tell me I had canceled it. I explained that I had received confirmations by email and text(through a third part) and also had my secretary call to confirm. She continued to insist that I was incorrect and I began pulling up my emails with confirmation numbers and she still didn't budge. She suggested I pay for another room to resolve this issue and take it up with the third party. I work with colleagues from all over the state and my board chair was actually with us so this added to the embarrassment. I knew that something did not seem right. We were approximately 30 minutes into this scenario. I was almost ready to pay for the rooms when I found a number to call and the person confirmed that I did have a room. I put them on speakerphone and within minutes the clerk had "resolved" the issue. I was shocked. She apologized and gave my colleague an upgrade. At this point, it was hard to enjoy the hotel. Also, my room had a damaged toilet seat(the entire seat was cracked). In closing, I think you understand why a stay that was so anticipated went so wrong.

We had a wonderful stay and I appreciated how promptly the valet retrieved my vehicle. The only down side was not having early breakfast available on the weekend.

We stayed here because of the location and funky vibe. We live hotels that utilize an existing old building. We also loved the eco-friendly touches, right down to the recyclable key card. We also live to peruse the art.

We were on a bike tour and we’re only scheduled for one night. Room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were great. Cocktails at the bar were tasty. Great location for lunch restaurant. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed at the 21C Hotel Lexington for a wedding in the area and loved our room, the view, the toiletries, and had one of our best meals in Kentucky during our Sunday Brunch right before checking out. The shrimp & grits and biscuit were outstanding. Our stay was particularly enjoyable on its own, but it was capped by me receiving an email from the hotel notifying me that I left my jacket left behind in the room's closet. They offered to Fedex it to me, and did so promptly and without asking for anything in return. I already wished I could stay longer in the hotel, and now I feel doubly so. We have fond feelings for the hotel and look forward to returning.

Very disgusting experience!

For the $275.00 spent for what was advertised as a "boutique luxury hotel" I could have stayed at one of Lexington's best other accommodations. 1)The room wreaked of dirty feet. 2) The carpet was dirty and stained. 3) The bathroom door's hinges were so creaky that they awakened my spouse in the night and sounded like something from a horror story. 4) The entry door closer was so tightly adjusted that my wife literally couldn't open the door and I struggled. 5) One had to wrestle the curtains open as the sliding mechanisms severely needed lubrication. 6) I could not reach room service at approximately 7:30 PM. 7) So far as the "Art" was concerned throughout the lobby and various other places in the hotel; it was disgusting and completely inappropriate. It's "S&M" theme is quite embarrassing and totally out of place for anyone with young children, their senior parents or otherwise. You should be ashamed!! 8) I'd love to have a full refund but I suspect I'll never hear a word from anyone in upper management! Shame on you!!

This place is amazing. A little piece of history located smack in the trendy shopping, food and nightlife of downtown. Rooms are spacious and modern, bed was comfortable and staff attentive. My only caveat is that I would hesitate to bring small kids due to the nature of the art exhibits.

The location was very noisy and hard to get in and out of with the valet parking set up. I was definitely overcharged seeing as I paid more for room and then was offered a significantly discount rate to stay another night and desk staff not very friendly.

Disappointing let down

The restaurant and lounge were both closed for a private event the night I stayed. It was closed all afternoon/evening for both cocktail hour and dinner. This was the main reason I chose to stay at your hotel — so that I could work, eat and lounge in the same spot. At $210 this was disappointing. I wonder if the use of the restaurant lounge is figured into their nightly rate? If so then this isn’t right. The windows in the hotel room were filled with dirt and sludge and it was actually difficult to see out of the window. When I went to check out and I went to get change for the valet both check out clerks had no change went to the restaurant and they had no change. What kind of large institution such as the 21C hotel doesn’t have any change? Again, it was for THEIR Valet gratuity. Backing up to the night before, when I asked for a restaurant recommendation, since all 21C options were closed, the front desk clerk gave me a recommendation of a restaurant that was closed.

made reservation and had early check in request, arrived a little later and room was still not available. Had to change in the public restroom. Staff offered to keep my luggage there since I let the valet have my car. Had to go get my own car, Also when I came back at 1030pm they could not even take my luggage to my room. I had to walk to the side lot to get my car the next morning as well. Requested to be contacted by manager and it never happened,
