We always love our stays with the 21C's. We hadn't been at the flagship location before. It was nice, we will ask for an outside room next time. The room was too dark for my liking, facing the inside atrium. We will continue staying with 21C when possible. Sad to find out Chicago was gone and Cincinatti is also soon exiting the 21C family. Those 2 cities are ones we travel to most.

One problem: I asked the guy at the front dest for change for a $20 so I could tip the valet and maid. He said that he didn't have access to cash. I'm sure that some MBA in corporate decided that it's more efficient to run a front desk with no cash. That may be true, but the folks that work for tips get screwed in the process. That MBA probably got a nice bonus though.

Staying and living in a museum has always been a draw to go to 21c the Museum hotel. Conveniently located in downtown Louisville. Dinner at Proof, their restaurant fantastic, our server Lance made every offering sound like a must have, and he did not steer us wrong. Cocktail selection also curated well. The complimentary Bourbon night cap was also appreciated. However, several requests went unfulfilled until requested numerous times, not great follow up. Asked to have room made up when i went out for an hour only to return and find it was not, when i asked, i was told, housekeeping said i had do not disturb sign on the door, which i had of course removed before i went out and asked the front desk to have it made up... she must have been referring to when it was up before i went out... We had gone down for breakfast at about 10 am , and told no breakfast for you. a la soup guy from Seinfeld, but we could come back in an hour for lunch, so we scoured the streets for breakfast.. and when we returned room had still not been made up. Having coffee maker in the room was nice, and each day i left the used items on the counter, sugar, creamer, stirrer, cups, and you would think they woudl see what had been used to replace those items, but often the sugar was missed, the stirrer not replaced, and the cups as well. just not great attention to detail. The blackout curtain in the room did not completely close and a red neon installation was right outside the window peering in each night. So while the hotel and its art is amazing, the service is not what it used to be.. sadly. Shout out to Vance and some of the reception who were very friendly greeting us each day as we came and went.. as well as the evening fellow at the door. It was like coming home !

Hotel, restaurant, and museum are good. Check-in and check-out were subpar. Booked through Chase The Edit. Receptionist presented an Amex welcome letter which was confusing. Also, they forgot to give me breakfast vouchers so needed to go back and ask for it later. Later noticed the voucher amount didn't look right, so went back again and another receptionist was able to correct it. Never mentioned wi-fi so assumed it was in the letter but it wasn't. At this point, I made too many trips to the front desk so I didn't bother to make another. Highlight was check out. My booking was prepaid through Chase travel but it wasn't registered as prepaid so the receptionist tried to charge me again. It is unclear whether the error was from Chase or 21c but the amount of mistakes at check-in makes me wonder. It was eventually sorted out but only after check out was significantly delayed, making the trip to the airport quite hectic and leaving no time for me to fill gas for my rental car, resulting in fuel charge.

Stayed in the Cyclone room. In 40 years of traveling, never stayed in a room like that. Staff was friendly. Place had a bit of a musty smell. Went into the bar for a nightcap and eventually walked out given a lack of service. Overall a good place with a couple of small issues.

Great locations and chic feel. Had a flat tire and the Valet, maintenance, and entire desk staff was very helpful getting us back up and running. Bar staff was fun and very attentive. Only negative was our shower did not have hot water (only cool water). Oddly the sink was fine. As the fix wasn't easy to find, we really didn't want to pack everything back up, though they offered. We managed. Would stay again.

The hotel was nice, in a good location and the on site restaurant is great. All of the staff were nice and accommodating. We had multiple issues with our billing and the benefits we were supposed to get by booking this hotel through our credit card program. For that reason we wouldn't stay again.
