we came to Chicago for a long weekend. We loved our stay at 21c. The hotel was in a great location , convenient to everything. The room was comfortable and quiet. The Exhibit in the lobby was FANTASTIC and I enjoyed looking at it every day. The desk staff were super friendly and helpful

Overall, the hotel is okay. I wasn’t very impressed with this location in comparison to the other location I have visited. The staff isn’t overly friendly and definitely not when you bring up a concern. Unfortunately I probably won’t stay here again.

The location of the hotel was within walking distance of great food, shopping, and museums, and the room was spacious and super comfortable. The price was also excellent for being right in the middle of downtown with free parking. I will definitely be staying here the next time I am in Chicago.

Front desk first experience was ok. People polite. When I called to ask to speak with Luis, the door man, they were helpless and didn’t allow me to speak with him. Luis was a great person, very charismatic and very helpful beyond his duties. But the front desk person that answer my call (maybe Hector) was helpless and made me regret staying at that hotel. Also hotel did not have any room service and nothing to provide my family! Terrible experience

After reading many reviews that criticize everything from customer service to hallway lighting, I feel compelled to write a review to help confirm how 12c Chicago is currently running their show. My partner and I stayed at 21c Chicago for 2 nights over the NYE holiday weekend. After reading many reviews with guests claiming to be misinformed about hotel charges, accommodations, and services, I proactively called three days prior to my check-in date to confirm all hotel reservation details. The hotel confirmed my reservation details accurately. When inquiring about the hotel's parking arrangement, they politely outlined where the hotel garage was located exactly, what the hotel's discount would be and how to pay for it. Mind you - I had to call them and inquire myself, so if you want to know exactly where you need to go, call and ask for yourself, and they will be happy to provide the information for you. On the morning of my check-in date, I called again to confirm my reservation details. After reading reviews of inconsistent customer service and misinformation, I wanted to talk to more than one 21c Chicago representative to test the consistency of staff performance. This time, I spoke to a woman named Holly, who confirmed everything once again. Everything was accurate and she was very friendly and helpful. She confirmed 21c's 4pm check-in policy and also let me know that my room would be ready before 4pm for a $30 early check-in fee if I wanted to. I appreciated her transparency for the up charge. So far so good. Upon arrival, Holly was there to greet us and check us in. My check-in process was smooth and the room was ready early as promised. We stayed on the 7th floor in a Deluxe King room. After arriving on the 7th floor, yes, the hallways were very dark. It's a mood, that's for sure. This doesn't bother me personally and I don't feel the hallway lighting situation is an oversight, rather quite the opposite. Room details: The room was spacious and the small couch and king size bed were very comfortable. Bathroom: The bathroom was quite small, but manageable for two people. My room in particular did not have any led lighting in the bathroom, so it was a bit frustrating when trying to get ready for a night on the town. Extras: The deluxe king room does not have a refrigerator for your personal belongings. It did have a mini bar. I simply made some room on one side of that cooler to stow some extra lacroix we brought on the trip. No big deal. No, there was no ice machine available (due to COVID). However, we did call the front desk two separate times for ice. They were polite and brought it up both times within 5 minutes. No issues. We also called one morning for more coffee packets, and those too were brought up quickly. Location: This is a fantastic location to stay for anyone wanting to visit the River North district and surrounding downtown areas by foot. Most everything you need is within walking distance. Each night of our stay was rather quiet. Staying on the 7th floor, the only thing that was disruptive were ambulances. While considering we stayed here on a NYE night, I was pleasantly surprised the noise levels were as quiet as they were. The check out process was very quick and Holly was there to greet us once again and wish us a Happy New Year. All and all, we had a good experience and I would seriously consider booking here again and checking out a suite next time I'm in town.

Wish the front desk is more friendly

I did tons of research before choosing this hotel. I have stayed many 21c before staying at Chicago 21c. I called the front desk two nights before I arrived, I got the confirmation the pet fee was waived and I also found a confirmation from Chicago 21C’s website the pet fee was waived. When I checked in, the front desk staff rudely told me it was not( there was so many ways to say no, but they chose the rude and disrespectful tone!). I pulled my phone record and the 21c Chicago website, showed all the proof to the staff, they didn’t want to acknowledge the situation and continuously argued with me that I was wrong. They finally decided to waive the fee. Later on, the same staff saw me walking through the lobby, waived me down, and told me I was wrong AGAIN after waiving the fee. What kind of customer service is that? All the bad reviews about this hotel is related to their front desk, why Accor continues ignore those bad reviews? I completely understand this world is under-staffed, however, why would any customer should put up with such terrible service when they check in. I am still giving this place a four-star for their perfect location and convenient self-parking garage. Their room is clean! Accor and 21c, please hold your employees accountable or it will damage your brand.
