My visit here was not a good one. I was lied to when I enquired as to why my room thermostat was not working. The young lady at the front desk assured me that the rooms have a sensor and know when people are in them and that is the only time that the temperature gages are activated. When I asked how would the sensors know if I were asleep or if I were out of the room, I was told "Oh, it knows." The next morning I woke up to an extremely cold room. When I called back down to the front desk, I was informed that the thermostat in my room was broken and I would have to change rooms while it was being fixed. Secondly, I left an item in my room after I moved. I asked the manager to check the room an hour later for my item. At that point, it was gone and could not be located in the hotel. Once I complained about the item several times, it was finally located and brought to me. Finally, I had to call down to the front desk three times just so I could get some ice brought up to my room. All of these inconveniences made for a horrible weekend. I spent more time in my room dealing with these frustrations than I did exploring the city.

Kelly at the Front Desk was exceptional! From the time I called requesting an early check-in to the actual check-in process, she went above and beyond to accommodate me. I mentioned that I was coming from a nearby hotel where I had a disappointing stay and she let me check in early. I also said my ankle was sprained, so she thoughtfully placed me in an ADA room. Her friendly demeanor and thoroughness was much appreciated. She is a standout employee for sure! The room was in excellent condition—very clean with a very comfortable bed. I liked the electronic blackout shades. A top notch experience in a cool, unique environment.

We've stayed with 21c in Louisville and Cincy and loved them. We're fairly disappointed in the Chicago location. Our room had one stock photo in it, no art in the hallways, and the hotel still needed some work. Elevators were rough... overall not up to the standards we expected from having stayed at other 21c locations.

We love coming to the 21C. It's got a great location to the things we want to see and do in Chicago. Check-in and parking are easy. It's a pretty good value with the quality of rooms for the price. We alway love staying there!!

Disappointing

Having stayed and dined at other 21c hotels in Cincinnati, Louisville, and Nashville, the Chicago property was nowhere close to meeting expectations. The restaurant was closed our entire stay, there was no place on the property to grab a drink, glass of wine, or even a coffee. It felt more like a youth hostel with some interesting art than a luxury hotel.

I will not choose this hotel for the future stay unless I have no choice.

Elevator door and hallway is dirty. No outlet near the bed to charge cell phone. I see the elevator is not cleaned regularly throughout the day. The front staff is very slow and struggle to operate efficiently.

Check in was easy and pleasant. Staff was very nice. Room and hotel was good. Only complaint is odd room layout - very long and narrow room with quirks. There was a TV by the couch, which was far from the bed in almost a different room. As a result, there was no TV for the bed/to watch while going to sleep. There were plug-ins for a TV, making it look like a TV was missing.

The room was incredibly drafty and cold, it didn't matter how high i turned up the heat. The front desk team where very rude and when I asked for a late check out the front desk member sighed and said they would check but acted like i was a inconvenience so i just said forget it. Definitely will never recommend a stay here for anybody.

We were in town for the "Office Experience" exhibit and it was a very short walk away. The selection of restaurants was nice, it is close to the Magnificent Mile, and Millennium Park is nearby. The museum of the hotel added a fun and educational aspect to our stay. Overall we had a wonderful experience!

The hotel space was very cool, my daughter and I loved the exhibit and treated it like a trip to the museum. Our room was thoughtfully designed, with beautiful features in the bathroom and a comfy bed. I was disappointed that there were hotel guests riding the elevators (not socially distancing) and not wearing masks. They were particularly young groups of what seemed college-aged youths. Clearly, they were above the Covid virus. I did feel uncomfortable. Also, parking was not ideal. I had to really work to find a spot in another lot after I checked in. The price was high, but the staff did comp my bill to reflect the parking fee. That was very well executed. Thank you. Otherwise, a great location, lovely space, and a hotel that I would consider staying in another time.

The room itself was nice but for the amount I paid (plus the $200 hold they took when I got there) the view was terrible. There are only two elevators so I waited 15 minutes at checkout for an elevator and you could hear them stop at every floor but was so packed no one could get on. I ended up having to carry my stuff down 7 flights of stairs just to leave. Don’t think I will be staying here again.

I did tons of research before choosing this hotel. I have stayed many 21c before staying at Chicago 21c. I called the front desk two nights before I arrived, I got the confirmation the pet fee was waived and I also found a confirmation from Chicago 21C’s website the pet fee was waived. When I checked in, the front desk staff rudely told me it was not( there was so many ways to say no, but they chose the rude and disrespectful tone!). I pulled my phone record and the 21c Chicago website, showed all the proof to the staff, they didn’t want to acknowledge the situation and continuously argued with me that I was wrong. They finally decided to waive the fee. Later on, the same staff saw me walking through the lobby, waived me down, and told me I was wrong AGAIN after waiving the fee. What kind of customer service is that? All the bad reviews about this hotel is related to their front desk, why Accor continues ignore those bad reviews? I completely understand this world is under-staffed, however, why would any customer should put up with such terrible service when they check in. I am still giving this place a four-star for their perfect location and convenient self-parking garage. Their room is clean! Accor and 21c, please hold your employees accountable or it will damage your brand.

Thank you 21c Museum Hotel for such a wonderful stay! The art in the lobby was so fantastic that I am still telling my friends that weren't able to go about it and that they have to check out the hotel the next time that they make it Chi-Town! Also thank you the Global Sales and on property sales for making my birthday weekend so very special! I made sure to buy my green penguin and he is now a permanent resident in my home so I can always look back and remember this truly fantastic weekend! Thank you 21c Chicago and I'll see you next time I am in Chicago!

Perfect location for exploring the city. The exemplary service of Tom the engineer is the reason for 5 stars. He came up immediately to check my TV which didn’t display, assessed the problem,and brought up a new TV which had arrived the day before. He was friendly, efficient, and professional—-outstanding service. My only criticism—-the dark, dreary hallways (at least on 11th floor).

Hotel is chic and clean. Booked using All points as partial payment but full amount was kept on hold at check in. Good thing I inquired at check out and was corrected then. Will probably stay closer to the river where nice bars and restaurants are next time around.
