My Hotel reservation check-in on 17th March. I called Mercure Penang for room cancellation on 16th March evening as soon as government announcement on MCO implementation due to Covid 19. Hotel manager requested me to call back on 17th March so to confirm room cancellation. I made calls as requested on 17th March and failed to get ahold of the manager and being requested to send an email request for room cancellation. I have immediately sent the email on 17th March 11am and ever since I got no reply and follow up. I would appreciate that your hotel can give me an official reply on my request of room cancellation.

Friendly staff, excellent customer experience with responsible staff ensuring temperatures are taken prior to entering the premise in the wake of COVID-19. However, some feedback - the instrument used to take our temperate was to be used for the ear, and not on our forehead. Therefore, the temperate is highly inaccurate - where ours recorded at 34/35 deg celcius each! Hope the management can look into this and provide proper tools for the team to perform the needful.

it was the people working in the reception area who made this trip for us, they were friendly, welcoming, and had good advice for sightseeing. However the check in process was lacking as we were not given the vouchers for the evening meal which was part of the package and they failed to book our return airport transfer as requested. The room was lovely and spacious and the bed and pillows was super comfortable. The shower had excellent water pressure but was impossible to use without flooding the bathroom floor. The drains were also slow to drain the water. The room kitchen area had no towels to clean the cups with and the provision of coffee and tea was very limited. Whilst the restaurant food was good the variety was very limited and if we had stayed there longer we would have been bored with the selection. Due to the location of the hotel unfortunately there are no other food or beverage options within easy reach. At time of check in we booked the return airport transfer, the day before we reconfirmed that the time for pickup was appropriate for time of day. Unfortunately the pick up was not arranged and we were left waiting. Fortunately the lady working at the tour desk helped us out by arranging a Grab car for us. Had she not done that we would have potentially missed our flight!

Staff are polite. Staff does not wear mask at the pandemic. Pool unattended. There was noisy customer with loud music (with speaker). No one attend until I complained at front desk. Need more chair for sun bathing. No one attending bath towel when not available

Ibis Melaka is more fun than this hotel. Beside hanging out by the the beach, we never felt really special of this hotel. The room is boring, the facility is just fine and the restaurant is just flat.
