A good returning stays this trip. Stayed at Mercure Penang Beach for 2 nights. I have enjoyed complementary Suite room upgrades upon check in as an ALL Diamond member. The room was spacious with beautiful seaview from the windows. Rooms are clean and comfortable. However, the welcome amenities are missing this round of stay. Breakfast is average to worse as the taste is below the expected local taste. I suspected the food is prepared by foreigner and it is not up to the local standard taste. Overall, a good stay and will consider Mercure Penang Beach for my next trip to Penang.

Bed sheets had ants and beg bugs, no water bottle provided (even in a glass one), water flow of the drinking tap was too slow and inconvenient. Restaurant didn’t serve food even when we reached at 9pm.

Surprised that booking on the Accor All.com website that says 'including taxes and fees' we were still required to pay both Penang local business tax and tourism tax. Otherwise very nice and friendly staff. Room supplied only one large towel each. On the last day of our 5 night stay we were also given two hand towels.
