Check in staff very friendly and helpful, although there appeared to be more staff than guests. However the suite decor was tired and the room not clean. Hugely overpriced for the standard of room. This is the first hotel we have stayed in during the pandemic where we have wiped surfaces and found dirt. We also found food stuck to the floor. House keeping were observed on numerous occasions not wearing masks and sitting watching their phones in someone's room. Various lamps did not work. The bath plug and hand rail was broken. I replacement rubber plug provided. There was no hot water the first day but this fixed quickly.

I have staying in this hotel since it was established. But day by day it’s getting worse. Same dirty carpets are in place since 10 years, no development in room facilities, amenities, etc. The restaurant has now become very pathetic with lazy chefs and staff except one or two workers. Indeed they are abusing in the name of fixed menu and providing very basic breakfast that too not good. Freshly baked eggs felt like the chef somehow managed to re arrange from old stuff and sent it. I just stayed last month the breakfast was better and the waiters have n number of excuses. They said we have a group booking from military and this is the menu we have when I asked for fresh fruits , cake, falafel etc. The day I checked in I asked the manager at reception Miss. Faiza to send some fruits in my room instead of sweets, she said I will and did not send it. I even reminded her for the second time and she said I will again remind the kitchen. Just compare the staff and breakfast between Fairmont makkah and movenpick Yanbu, you will get to know the difference. Why don’t you keep the swimming pool open after sunset, it is not deep pool. There are other hotel groups who close it at night. Just keep your guard and extend the time. Security at the gate are very welcoming and great.

The Movenpick has been wonderful stay majority of the times. Front Desk Supervisor, Ayat in my opinion, is the best customer service representative/supervisor at the Movenpick. I have no clue who the manager would be and never met him in person. The only reason, I keep referring our team back to the Movenpick is because of Ayat. She provides us with awesome customer service, she is there to greet us as soon as our team arrives and she address all issues for our team during our stay. I can say the buffet both breakfast, lunch and dinner should be bought back. A lot of our team members enjoy this accommodation. Ayat is the rock for the Yanbu Movenpick and why I continue to refer our team to stay.

DO NOT FALL FOR THE MOVENPICK NAME. They close the pool at 6 p.m. and it is too hot to swim during the day time. and women/children are not allowed in the pool or at the movenpick beach at all times. Also, the room condition is too outdated, especially the furniture and the TV. You can find much better value in Yanbu for half the price that Movenpick is charging

My trip to Yanbu was for two days and the Movenpick was tested to take the largest amount of rest, but unfortunately my first day passed in arriving with maintenance and the second day took a rest from the day before, as I entered the hotel at 9 pm on Thursday and it turned out that the air-conditioning was bad and I waited until 12 am The reception was contacted, and the young support was sent after 20 minutes, and the work period lasted about an hour, and the technical support assured me that it needed some time, but unfortunately the adjustment was bad and the communication with the staff continued until 12 pm until I was transferred to another room after several attempts and I could not Sleeping during the period unfortunately. I have an attachment to what happened, unfortunately a very, very, very bad experience

Hotel is overpriced, beds need better duvets & pillows, pools close at sunset which is unfortunate because in Saudi the weather is soo hot that it is not good to swim in the early hours of the day, we could not use the pool , too many rules, also we could not bring in food ordered elsewhere but when we wanted to order from the restaurant in the hotel we waited for over 39 mins before a waiter could take our order

1. Sea is not suitable for swimming. They could make sandy area or a platform to access sea in a better way. 2.They don’t allow women to swim, and yet they don’t provide a substitute!. 3. Zero sea activities. So I won’t repeat my visit.

Tiny tv in rooms, no soundproofing, and slow service to the rooms. "Fine dining" restaurant closed, and "buffet" restaurant open but no buffet. Only half the items in the menu are being served and food badly cooked. Total waste of money.

Very Bad Experience with Reception Staff

The hotel environment is nice and luxuries. something that deserve the high priced rate compared to other hotels in the area. But the staff communication and the way they handle guests issues is unprofessional. The employee didn't have the right information about the gusts offers and promotion. although I let them know that I have a 15% discount by my membership. They insisted that I only have 10% (The girl showed unwillingness to listen and was agitated because as I believe she worked double shifts against here will). After couple of days of negotiation back and forth with the managers and supervisors. I paid to extend my stay at the wrong rate. Later, I found a way to show them the right discount and finally they agree after they discussed it with the manager in-charge and admit that was a mistake from there part. I asked the manager in-charge to compensate me for the unprofessionalism and bad experience I have to go through to prove. So he sent a fruit basket to my room (not what I expected from a hotel with high rank and status). In conclusion, Hotel place, architecture, design, and atmosphere is very nice and luxuries, but customer care staff and user experience is very low and unprofessional.
