Nice hotel clean and very friendly staff except the evenings bar staff that were always in a hurry to go home ad never made an effort to give us a simple drink even in plastic glasses to get away .The receptions staff was very friendly and helpful!Nice stay

The hotel is a "combo hotel" IBIS + Mercure (different floors), very close to the castle and easy to reach (Google / Waze guide you well). The room is a typical IBIS room, reasonable size, decent bathroom and very clean. They have parking but I find it expensive for Budapest and for that particular location - a parking garage underground (18 EUR / day), a parking lot behind the hotel (13 EUR / day). There is the possibility to find free parking on the streets around, but it is easier if someone would tell you where (it did not happen to me this time). It was late, I was tired, did not bother and took the parking lot (almost empty); however in a similar situation, in Wien, the IBIS receptionist was very kind and told me between what hours and on which street I can park for free or for a better price than in their underground parking (hint to better customer service !). I did not try the breakfast; again I find it pricy. Just behind the hotel you can find some good stuff if you want a breakfast "on the go".

Great stay

I choosed this location because it was walking distance from the Fisherman's Bastion (10min) so I could go at sunrise. The room was very clean and I had everything I needed. The price was great. The train station ist just next to the building and a local supermarket too. The parties are on the other side of the river, but I could easily get a BOLT taxi go return home.

I had a nice one night stay in the ibis hotel. I only had to call reception for changing room as I booked a double bedroom and got a twin one. Everyone was very helpful and received a big double bedroom.

The hotel is nice and well located. The breakfast is excellent. It is just next to one of the metro stations and just within walking distance to the old castle. From there you can reach any point near over the Danube just walking.

A good hotel with a poorly organized service system

I have stayed in the Accor hotel chain several times before. And I was always satisfied with my visit to hotels and service in them. But this time there was an unpleasant incident that spoiled my mood from staying at the Ibis Castle Budapest hotel. The hotel was booked and fully paid for almost 3 months before I checked in. When checking in at the hotel, the front Desk employee told me that I should (I need to) make a Deposit of 10,000 forints. I offered him a cash Deposit. But he refused me, saying that the Deposit should only be made by Bank card (non-cash method). And this Deposit amount was blocked on my Bank card. The hotel itself made a positive impression on me. The room is clean, spacious, white linen. But I, considering the state of the environment and saving your money and the work of the maids, put up a sign asking not to clean my room. After all, I only stayed for two days. I was a loyal and economical guest. When checking out of the hotel, I asked the employee who registered my departure when I would get my Deposit back. The employee assured me that the money (the Deposit amount of 10,000 forints) will be returned to my Bank card in 2 days. So I went to Eger, hoping that the Deposit would be returned to me there. But the money on the card was not returned after 2 days or 5 days... When I returned to Budapest from Eger, I had to spend my time and money to come again to the Ibis Castle Budapest hotel to find out the issue. The receptionist I approached said that the Bank was having problems. I said I wasn't interested. I want my money back . I spent almost an hour at the hotel while the staff tried to solve my problem. I reminded them that I offered to pay (Deposit) in cash and there would be no problem! The money was eventually returned to me. But the mood was spoiled! My booking did not mention any Deposit! I have always been a loyal customer and saved you money and resources. But the hotel wasted my time, spoiled the experience of living in it. I lived in two other hotels in Hungary this time But none of them took any Deposit from me! They value the opinions of their clients. Next time, if I want to reserve a hotel in your chain, I will think for a long time-whether I should do it..
