After staying in many Hotels / Resorts… and supporting ACCOR as a member for many years, I found it interesting that management feel that they need to make you / us feel so awkward…. So we book the most expensive room offered, a one bed, spa unit, with own plunge pool…. Nice, BUT, we find that the entry is shared with a studio type room which also shares the outdoor patio area AND the plunge pool. Clearly the motivation is that it would be the perfect family two bedroom unit with a pool, I get that. What I don’t get is why they don’t have a policy to allocate either 1 x one bedroom unit (stand alone), OR a studio unit (stand alone) therefore giving guests some privacy, not allocate two guests to share the same space, making the patio and pool area very awkward, particularly when you are paying top dollar. The space makes for a perfect 2 bedroom apartment… not 2 shared spaces.

Modern, well equipped and serviced

The 1 bedroom apartment was good, but a bit out of Kingsclff - need a vehicle. The BIG negative was the infestation of cockroaches - even in the Refrigerator - some were frozen DEAD!!! This apartment was a 4 star if you don't worry about cockroaches. Our friends were in a 2 bedroom apartment, with plunge pool - this too was exceptionally FILTHY - Grease dripping onto bench top from the exhaust fan & the DISHWASHER STUNK. Had to get cleaners in to CLEAN - UP these issues. Cleaners obviously NOT doing their job - just changing the linen!! Both bookings were booked through Kingscliff Accommodation which we will NEVER do again - go direct to the Resort!!

Check in was hectic. Do not have the Accor Premium check in lane - if Reception staff are overwhelmed or unable to cater for this option. It was only for show and never actually utilised. Understandably a busy weekend - for the long weekend so I didn’t expect an upgrade. Logan at Reception did his best (when constantly interrupted by guests who did not wait in the queue), he advised the hotel was fully booked and an upgrade was impossible. Room was well placed and quiet. Security is really lax and the locals use the facilities & pools like it was a public park. Lads jump the fences to gain access to the pools/ spa - whereas the girls just walk through reception and make their way to the pools. They even went to and from the lobby to get glasses of chilled water. I asked reception three times TK do a ‘room check’ to move them on - after they had taken towels and were hovering around the entry gates. No response at all from the hotel. Incredible lack of consistency with ‘daily’ housekeeping - particularly as I had booked a ‘hotel’ room not an apartment. Each hotel room is ‘dual key’ - so more annoying that the room was serviced on day 1 & forgotten every day from that point on. Although I met housekeeping servicing the room next door daily. I don’t mind reusing towels as I was at the beach and pool every day - however the towels really don’t dry properly. On day 3 - returned to the room to get ready to go out & had to run to reception and beg for one towel that wasn’t a pool towel. Ran out of toilet paper and hand wash. So disappointed when I paid a premium of $250+ per night. I moved to the Oaks down the road and had a delightful stay.
