We stayed for 3 days and took several treatments, including cocoon, facial and massage, which were very enjoyable. The room was comfortable, we took a villa and it was quite big with open fire place and floor heating, It also had a spa.

From the moment we arrived the experience was fantastic, and the team went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. The restaurant and bar were closed while we were they (which they advised in advance) but the staff whipped up a welcome platter for us, and we were invited to grab a bottle of wine and enjoy it next to the lobby fireplaces.

Not what I’d expected

Came for relaxation and paid 2-3x more than I’d normally pay, expecting 2-3x more quality. Nice looking place, and very clean, but I basically paid $400 extra to have two nights with a poorly functioning spa. Breakfast was a joke. First day took 50 minutes to serve from seating to eating, despite only one other table seated before us. Bacon was so over cooked (I’m tipping it was reheated from yesterday) we couldn’t cut through it, not crispy, think jerky! There’s only a handful of options on the breakfast menu, none of them are plain and simple, and the least complicated one with mushrooms and eggs and bacon in the mix was just mutilated. Words cannot express how majorly disappointed I was with breakfast. For a boutique motel boasting relaxation and upper class service, this completely ruined it for me most of all. I could handle waking up to a deformed 5-legged child on the wall if I knew I was paying for a decent breakfast. There was no way I was paying $95 a head for anything on their dinner menu. I feel like I’ve waisted my holiday on this place. It’s actually ruined Daylesford altogether for me. Staff were nice, accommodated us very well, but often too well eg. We just wanted to go to our room, but my partner couldn’t do check in despite having my license in his hand, they demanded I come in and sign, then without option they walked us right around the place on a tour, before we got the keys. We just wanted to check in and go to our room. We could always ask later. Just to be given the option would have been nice.

Thought I would treat myself and the girlfriend to a mid-week getaway last week (3/8) to this place. And was enticed by an upgrade to a 'Pepper Superior Spa' room because it, and I quote directly from their website, has "Spa rooms that feature either bath style spas in the ensuite or a 2 person spa on the outdoor deck". $349 for the single night. It was with great surprise then to open the door to our tiny room (202) and have it almost hit the bath! It wasn't on the outdoor deck (because there wasn't one), nor was it in the ensuite. It was instead within the room basically beside the bed! There was no mix-up, this was indeed one of their "Superior Spa" rooms. A phone call to the front desk confirmed this to be the case and that was that. Blatant false advertising, blatant fraud, blatant scam. Refund was requested but denied at the front desk "because you booked through our website, nothing we can do". I eventually got on to phone assistance and a refund was arranged. However, "this will take between 4-6 weeks to be credited back to you". Not only will I never attempt a stay here again, there are much better alternatives literally down the road, I will most likely never stay at another Peppers either. I always thought this was a trustworthy and reliable brand/chain. I've learned - It is not.

Those in our Garden Section which have the spa on the outdoor deck, and those in our Heritage Building that have the spa in the room. Nous sommes allés là à cause d'une offre spéciale proposée par Gourmet Traveller. La chambre était riquiqui et sombre, il y avait une porte menant à une espèce de balcon, la salle de bain était froide et minuscule - on aurait dit que c'était moi qui avais posé le carrelage mural - et pourquoi donc en cette époque où on essaie de diminuer les emballages, les verres seraient-ils enrobés dans des sacs en papier ? Dans une zone aussi froide, il faut du chauffage dans les salles de bain. Le lit n'était pas confortable. Le service dans la salle à manger le matin était consternant. La fille qui mettait la table oubliait la moitié des couverts et oubliait aussi de débarrasser, et la moquette était couverte de miettes qui devaient remonter à je ne sais quand. Ce qu'il y avait à manger était correct, mais pas extraordinaire. Quant au spa... Il coûte beaucoup trop cher, j'ai été frigorifiée du début à la fin et mon dos m'a fait mal, sans compter que la fille qui m'a fait le traitement avait une très mauvaise haleine et respirait par la bouche tout près de moi, c'était abominable. Je ne retournerai JAMAIS là-bas. Mais comment des hôtels pareils se permettent-ils de demander autant d'argent alors que ce qu'ils offrent est moins que satisfaisant ?
