Friendly efficient welcome

We found the setting quite beautiful & just a short drive to Daylesford which suited us . It was a shame the comfy shared areas were closed due to covid as they looked so cosy & relaxing. Also no F&B which we had been informed about so not really the whole Peppers experience. Our room was quite basic but a large size with very comfortable beds & high quality bedding . Due for a renovation & styling I would think .

Every year my partner loves to spend his birthday at Peppers Daylesford. He especially likes the breakfast. This year the restaurant was closed due to the pandemic but we were upgraded to one the self contained villa which was great as we could make our own food as substitute. We were welcomed by a beautiful bottle of sparkling on arrival.

The room was lovely. Front desk was friendly. But you pay for the whole peppers experience when you book here, including an on-site restaurant and the common areas. I know these are closed due to COVID and not the hotels fault, but it didn’t seem fair to still charge such a high rate for limited facilities.

Met our needs upgrade appreciated

Peppers was a perfect place to get out of the city & enjoy a relaxing weekend with a massage, bush walking & local dining. Although the venue is yet to be fully opetational withe the bar & dining room still to open, the staff were very helpful suggesting alt e rnatives in the area & we received a welcome room upgrade. Great place to stay.

Booked hotel as soon as COvID 19 restrictions had partially lifted. We did not realise at the time of booking that the hotel would not be open and the booking was for seperate outer appartments only. We were advised 2 days after booking that the main hotel would be closed, but by this point all other accommodation in the area was fully booked so we decided to go ahead anyway. We were advised only that there would be not food. On arrival at the hotels we waited for 20 mins (in freezing conditions):to check in whilst we waited for someone to check us in. We were shown to our room which was nice, but becoming very dated and in need of a paint and a new carpet. The next day we waited for the room to be cleaned but was then told when enquiring that this service was not being offered. We had not been informed of this before our stay. After complaining, the very nice manager did come to the room with new towels, a bottle of wine (thank you) and a small $100 refund. However... this refund never arrived in my account so I presume she refunded someone else’s account! So in short the.cost of the room pre night was $480. This was an outrageous amount of money for a dated room with no food, service or even mini bar service. No effort was made to cater for the closed hotel and the room lacked basic items like plates, cutlery, etc that was required when takeaway service was being marketed as the only was of eating. Also a simple coffee maker is now standard in even basic motels... but obviously not at Peppers. Unfortunately this has damaged our view of the Peppers chain and we would probably not book with your group again in the future.

Good location and well equipped

The hotel is located near the centre of Hepburn Springs. It is an easy walk to anywhere in town you need to go including the general store and restaurants. It is also a very short drive to the Mineral Springs park where there are great walking tracks. I stayed in a villa which was very well equipped. There was a full size kitchen with every thing you need to cook if you so desire. Upstairs was a large lounge room and a large bedroom and bathroom. During the day there was a lot of natural light and with the sun coming in, I didn't need to turn on the heat. My only issue was with the televisions. There was a large one in the lounge and a smaller one in the bedroom. However, they didn't get the same channels. This was very frustrating as I like to watch tv in bed but the channels I like to watch didn't come in on the bedroom tv. They did work fine on the lounge tv but I wasn't going to sleep on the sofa. Otherwise, I had a lovely time in Hepburn Springs and Peppers was perfectly placed. The staff (all 1 of them) was very helpful and friendly.

Don’t stay here

What a waste. $400 for nothing but a glorified motel room. What’s all the fuss about?

Expensive for the lack of service provided

Ayesha Couples - 09/06/2020 Confirmed reviews ALL

We stayed at Peppers Hepurn Springs last week from Tuesday to Friday (2-5/6). At the time of booking I was not made aware that any of the facilities (restaurant, cleaning etc.) was not going to be available during our stay, that it would be the 'room only'. I was called on the Friday before we were due to arrive to inform us of this, allowing 3 days to find an alternative hotel or attempt to receive a refund through the original booking. Madi, who was at reception at the time was lovely and facilitated a $30 refund per day and a bottle of wine to accommodate the lack of service when we arrived. However I wasn't told that our room wouldn't be cleaned, provided with fresh towels etc. As the bathroom didn't have hooks, the towels were not drying properly. The pillows had stains on them (photos can be provided), the split system heater hissed loudly and wasn't functioning properly. There were only 2 other guests in the hotel and they were given the room above us, I thought initially this would make it easier for the cleaner. On the second night it sounded as though elephants were stomping above us, we were awoken every time they moved, which was frequent. It would have been thoughtful to place them in a different room away from other guests. I think that paying $940 for 3 nights was excessive and I would like to be compensated in some way for the lack of service and hospitality provided.
