Disappointing stay

The below is a few negatives from our recent stay at your hotel that really impacted our overall experience and prompted a low rating. 1. Housekeeping Issue. Food items from previous guests were left in kitchen cupboard, when I told reception it was fixed straight away but not even a 'sorry' from the staff. I understand mistakes happen but at least apologise. 2. Noise issues. Room overlooked the loading dock and has poor soundproofing, was woken up at 4:00am on Monday morning to 30 minutes of truck and trolley noises as linen was loaded into a truck below the bedroom window, and again at 7:00am when bins were tilted into garbage truck. Suggest someone check it out to see how annoying/disturbing the noise is and maybe avoid putting someone staying Sunday night into this room. 3. Uncomfortable bed. Bed had a big dip in the centre and was quite uncomfortable to sleep on. 4. No benefits from signing up as a Mantra member and booking direct. Didn't see the point as there were no perks advised at check-in or during our stay. Positives. Generally the staff were quite friendly and the location was pretty good for us. Hopefully this feedback will be taken on board and may lead to a better experience for other guests.

Comfortable place to stay for 13 nights. But the bathroom sink was blocked when I first got there. Also I was supposed to have room service once every 5 days (this was expected since I was there for so long) - I only had 1 room service the entire time I was there and that was because it was 9 days in and I'd called to ask for someone to at least take out the rubbish.

Having stayed previously, I knew what standard to expect and overall it was a very pleasant stay. A few little things could use attention; the ironing board was not in good condition and there was a loose component to the toilet door handle. These little 'issues' didn't detract from an otherwise clean and well equipped room. As they're relatively easy to care for, it's worth noting.

Welcoming and helpful staff. Room was very comfortable, clean and lovely outlook onto St kilda rd. Gym good facilities - needed bathroom restock and water fountain filter needs cleaning. It would be great to have option of some more free weights. Great place to stay for convenience of city, great value.

I’ve been staying here for probably the last 3 years, to be honest I was satisfied but that’s about it. I used to love coming here, but reception/greeting and the rooms are starting to fall sort of what I’ve expected and received in the past. Parking is also a lot dearer than it used to be, making it way cheaper to park down the road.

Terrible. Bed was two singles pushed together and made for a terrible nights sleep. The restaurant attached was just as bad. Paying the bill was a nightmare. Breakfast was a joke, no plates cutlery or glasses available. When asked the staff were indignant.

Stained carpet in lobby, rude bored staff. Carpet in room stained, and marked by hot iron. Lounge chair covered with marks and dirt spots. Queen size bed turned out to be two singles. View from 7th floor windows only of neighbouring building. Balcony covered in dust.

We had to chase a few things as in a missing cup and breakfasr menu. I also found what looked like a serviette and hopefully not a cleaning cloth in the bed. I’m also hoping it was clean and had got caught up with the laundered sheets. Otherwise all was good!

The front office experience was very good and the room was excellent. The hotel location was also excellent and close to the tram system to got both the CBD and St. Kilda Beach area. Improvement required; with additional information in the room in how to operate the TV control; front desk didn't answer my calls at 22:58 when trying to get information on the operation of the TV; and the restaurant was either not resourced enough or not organized enough as when I came to breakfast there was no hot food in the service area, nor was the female chef concerned when I asked if any was forthcoming. This disregard of the customer shocked me and I felt sorry for the rest of the staff as her demeanor also affected them.

From Check in to Check out we were treated so well! Requested a great room for a special ocassion and it was delivered and then some. Knowing it was a friends birthday, a bottle of red wine was given to my friend (which we both enjoyed whilst looking over Albert Park and looking out to sea). The food at Bakini was absolutely amazing also. Mantra St. Kilda.... we will be back :)

everyone was very pleasant and service was good. I was not happy with my dinner of breakfast. dinner was a very basic pasta meal and the breakfast had been sitting in the warmers way too long. It was only 7pm.
