Poor safety leadership

There was a fire alarm and evacuation during our stay. Apparently the fire alarm on our level was activated. The alarm went for some time (5 minutes?) before an announcement was made to evacuate. There were no wardens on the fire escapes, no wardens directing people to the hotel exit points, no wardens directing people to muster points, and no head counts done. It appeared that your staff were completely untrained, and there were zero people from your staff providing information or reassurance. I don’t know if staff knocked on doors to ensure that everyone was out, but I doubt it. We were a party in four rooms, and no one had a different experience to us. You need to establish proper procedures to cope with these situations, and if you already have them, provide serious training to your staff to ensure it’s implemented. It was a shameful response.

Great location, parking was a challenge for guests coming to see us or pick us. Room was comfortable.

Reception staff were generally OK, few needed more customer relations training. Eg- On Thursday the 19th, requested a small tissue pack due to the virus in Australia. Comment made by the male staff member was "we don't give handouts". Could have been more polite. Overall it was good.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Upon check-in the baby cot we had requested was already setup in the room as well as the sofa bed having been made up. The hotel is in a very central location with all major facilities nearby. The only drawback we had was that work was being done in the room next door (incl. drilling) and we were given no warning about it. There was also nothing available to wash dishes with.

This trip was my friend’s birthday trip in Perth. As the date of arrival was in the late night and we were not able to find a cake to celebrate birthday. Hotel staff prepared a little treat for us and placed inside the room. Further, the front desk staff, James was very helpful due to our booking faced some changes accidentally. Once again, thank you for your help, James. I truly appreciated it. I believe Mantra hotel would treasure a great staff like you!

facilities are bad and old

Facilities are really bad and old. Aircon are not working and we have to get technician to come fix twice. 1 of the night stay by without aircon, it so warm and unbearable. We still have to request to fans to sleep through. Secondly we have to go down to reception daily to request for bin liners and changed ourselves. Towels also not given daily and we also have to personally request for it. Lastly, no bottled water provided and still have to find our own source. The whole experience is bad staying at the hotel. Will not recommended!

Let down by noisy air conditioner, otherwise good.

I could not believe a large chain such as yours could have such terrible air conditioners. The unit was so noisy we had to turn it off to sleep and we could not open any windows to compensate. We were assured by staff including your maintenance person that all rooms were the same. The unit was so noisy we had to have it on ‘night mode’ during the day.
