Broken a/c and freezer, tired interior, great staff & location

Aircon was broken, freezer didn’t keep food frozen & dishwasher was broken. Staff bright pedestal fabs for us on request (should have been provided automatically) but first one was broken so we had to ask for another. With young kids to put to bed this was pretty annoying. The interior has been renovated but is tired & overall a bit grubby looking, although technically clean. Staff were apologetic & service was good. We were given “free parking” as compensation which was advertised with the room as standard anyway. An appropriate compensation would have been a night free. Won’t be staying at Mantra Southbank again!

There was a problem with the aircon so reception staff gave free parking and late checkout to compensate which was much appreciated

We were given a lovely welcome by Charlotte and from that point the experience with staff was the same. Nothing was too much trouble. Sabin in the cafe was great and the food very good.

Air con was not working in room. Upgraded to a balcony room with city views, complimentary parking and breakfast. Although the staff offered to relocate us to another hotel, I felt the offer was generous and agreed to stay without consideration of moving to another location.

ok, but was too hot

I checked into my room, but it was hot, and the air conditioner was not working. A technician came to look at it, and it was decided that I would move to another room. This was good, except that the air con did not work there either. I had to sleep with the balcony door open, which was noisy.

WE had an amazing relaxing time excellent location yummy breakfast , however the hotel is looking a bit tired. Whilst spotlessly clean the furnishing could use an upgrade particularly the cushions on the sunbeds. Inexpensive but huge impact.

It was ok. The air conditioning wasn't working so had the option to upgrade to a room with balcony for airflow or change to another mantra hotel. Chose the upgrade as the other hotel was further away. Had to leave balcony door open all nignt for fresh air but the street noise was unbearable with people yelling all night, people ringing bells on their bikes and scooters so didnt get any sleep at all.

Unfortunately upon checking in, the buildings air conditioning unit had broken down. As our family was only staying the one night we decided against looking for alternative accommodation. Unfortunately the air conditioning unit was unable to be fixed which made for an uncomfortable stay. I felt for the staff who did a brilliant job under struggling circumstances.

Overall it was nice. The pool was bad, broken pump and no sign to say don't use. Looked like a crocodile pond, also the door was dodgy.

On the first night, the room A/C was not working at all. Reception moved me to a new room. In the new room, the A/C fan worked but would not cool. I rang reception and was advised that the building A/C system was playing up. Spoke with Night Manager next morning and he advised that the system was being checked that day. Second night, no air conditioning. Advised Night Manager again next morning. Received the usual apologies but don't care for fake apologies. A four star hotel should come with room air conditioning. Will not stay there again.

I stayed at the Mantra Southbank for the close location to Southbank but it was the special service from every person in every area of the hotel that made my stay exceptional.

A sad story

This property is in very poor condition. We have staid here twice in the last few months and nothing has improved. Carpet missing inside robe, thread bare at bathroom door, blinds didn’t fit properly, very poor layout.

Perfect location for the Cultural Precint

The room was spacious and within walking distance to QPAC, the Museum and the Art Gallery. Unfortunately the hotel restaurant was closed for lunch and dinner but with so many restaurants/food outlets close by it was not a major concern.
