The service was good, but the restaurant banned me from wearing slippers, which I thought was terrible.

I want to extend my gratitude to Mr. Tokiho Fujiwara-san for his excellent service. I was very sick during my stay in Kyoto and wasn't able to visit many touring spots, unfortunately. Upon my check-out, Fujiwara-san was very kind and supportive, and offered some help including extension of my check-out time. I appreciate his hard work and am sending him my greetings and best wishes from Tokyo. I will choose to stay with you again in the future when I revisit Kyoto.

We truly enjoy our stay at the hotel and will definitely return again in Autumn. We feel very welcome and the room design and the amenity is of such elegance, we could rest very well during our stay and recharge with delicious food at the restaurant. Both the course dinner and the afternoon tea is superb, the chef and the staff takes pride in presenting the food in an artistic way and very clear explanation about the food and the tea. We will definitely return for the great food again! Thank you very much for making our stay such a memorable one, this becomes the best part of our Kyoto visit!

This is the first time I stayed at the Kyoto Yura Hotel. I arrived late evening and the service was impeccable. The blackout curtains and the soundproof windows assured a deep, sleep without the sounds of the street getting in. The rain shower and thoughtful lighting were features I also admired about the room. The set menu breakfast was exceptional. This is definitely a hotel I would stay in again!

overall, our stay was very exquisite. nothing to complain but the lights on the wall or from the ceiling in the lobby were located so low that i hit my head. when we checked in, the receptionist kept reminding us to watch out for lights but why did you hang them so low - its quite dangerous. my husband almost hit his head, too

We did not get an upgrade which was disappointing, despite our having an Accor Platinum membership. The room itself is fairly small with virtually nowhere to put the suitcases. The view from the window was not that inspiring either. Otherwise, we cannot fault the service. Most of the staff spoke good English, always a plus in foreign hotels, and were very polite and accommodating. The dinner was excellent and the chef was able to modify the menu for a vegetarian. Breakfast is also very good and fresh. Hotel is close to a Metro station and the bus route. Overall a satisfactory rather than excellent stay.

4 days in Kyoto and loved exploring the city. The room had everything we needed - water replenished daily, etc. Also the front desk team was fabulous - so beyond helpful and accommodating. One thing that would have made it better - we were looking out at an empty lot, which was disappointing given how many wonderful gardens there are all over the city. Wish they would have told us that in advance!

Perfect Kyoto Design Hotel near Gion!

A beautiful, stunning and intimate hotel capturing the essence of japanese minimal culture and design. Perfectly located near Sanjo station and walking distance to Gion district and many temples. We stayed 4 nights during christmas holidays. The hotel is exactly how its pictured and described on the website (thats rare!) Front Desk - Superb staff, welcomed us warmly on a cold winter evening. Hiromi Takagi and others were great everyday. Rooms & Amenities There is so much to love here. Designer rooms, tatami seating, illy espresso pods, comfy pajamas and stunning bathroom. We got two rooms as part of the family offer for 3. Other things we liked were complimentary bikes , umbrellas....etc. 1867 Bar This was our favorite spot to hang out after a long day of activities. Shiho Tanaka and Hajime Yamasaki were brilliant bartenders. Great craft, style and pride in every cocktail they made. My fav was the Old fashion and of course had japanese whisky and sake too. Given this was our first time in Kyoto we were torn between so many choices. But I am glad we went with M Gallery. I highly recommend this design hotel for families with teenagers and couples.
