Top notch location and stylish hotel. The food was also good value. However the room was a bit cramped, the swimming pool needs a makeover and a fitness center would be a great bonus.

Stunning hotel on the edge of Rochefort next to the river and the maritime museum. The hotel sent an email to warn of a closed access road to the hotel, which was wonderful as I was able to navigate an easier alternative without the stress! Lovely room over looking the pool. Breakfast is a bit on the expensive side, but they do scrambled eggs to die for! Good private parking right in front of the hotel.

A short stay in Rochefort

The hôtel was very clean and tidy, well situated in a very quiet part of town with good outside spaces. The attached restaurant was very good with a presumably reduced carte but still leaving a very good choice of fair. The wine list was adequate and reasonably priced. A very pleasant stay in an ideal situation. Close to the quayside for 'boat watching' and dreaming of seaborne travel. Adjacent to La Corderie Royale (former naval rope-works) and within a ten minute walk to the historic docks of Rochefort and the centre of town.

very nice place with very welcoming staff. Beautiful rooms and for the first time toothpaste was provided in the bathroom (I often forget my toothpaste :-) ) and delicious breakfast buffet ! The ideal place to come relax and visit the nice places around Rochefort.

Lovely welcome to a splendid historic building, well upgraded in the Mercure style. Made very welcome by bar and restaurant staff. Well appointed room although a little cramped for a hotel of this class. Missing a desk lamp, with control of lights limited to one side of the bed. Splendid view from the window over the Charente (all rooms on first floor). L'Hermione is birthed a short walk away.

Still not quite delivering Mercure standards

Whilst this hotel has a stylish design bedrooms do not offer all the amenities one would expect to find at this Accor brand. Also staff seem unaware of ALL status levels and associated benefits nor offered any recognition of this upon arrival.

Very nice hotel in Rochefort

Rooms are done up to very high standard. Had dinner in the restaurant it was top notch. Friendly staff. Drinks voucher prepared before our arrival and it was appreciated. Selection for breakfast could use some improvement - we had breakfast the previous day at the Best Western Plus in La Rochelle and they even had champagne and oysters for breakfast.

The hotel has character mixed with modern decor. My room on this occasion was more spacious than on my last stay (Privilege upgrade) and had an excellent double aspect view. Breakfast good and plentiful. Staff helpful and friendly.

The front person is quiteservice-oriented. However, only some persons can speak English. The room is convenient & nice and the breakfast is self-service and has various food. Anyway, I missed omlette.

Disappointing stay

The decor throughout the hotel, and the furnishings in the public areas are lovely. The location is also great. However, for a 4 star hotel, I was disappointed (and surprised) by how tiny the bedroom was. Unfortunately also, we were situated above the restaurant where a large group continued to talk loudly until 1am. The manager apologised next day and made amends with our bill, but I would have expected a management presence in a 4 star hotel that would control such noise in the night.

Regarding our standard rooms it is written on our website that they are 20 square meters and it's a normal size for a 4 star. If you prefer larger rooms you can although choose our superior room (from 25 to 49 square meters). We stay at your disposal for any further informations. Sincerely.
