On arrival the hotel seemed pleasant enough. When we arrived in our room, there was a leak from the ceiling and a small puddle on the floor. The staff quickly moved us to another room which was not leaking but had no sea view and was boiling as the heating control didn't work. I was surprised there was no bath in a junior suite, it had been replaced by a large shower that didn't work very well at all - completely useless to be fair. We went down to the pool which was tired and needed redecorating. The pool water was murky and there was a cold hose pumping water in. The so called kids paddling pool was a concrete cold pool. I wouldn't recommend for kids. Dinner at the hotel restaurant wasn't great either, starters tasted off and the main was inedible. We went for a cocktail at the bar, my drink didn't taste as it should, when I asked the barmen said he swapped one of the ingredients because they had run out of what was on the menu. All in all it was a shambles.

Worst experience and customer service I’ve ever come across

Event was shocking and poorly managed. Front of house staff were incompetent and lied to me. Further more to my complaint over the phone the manager has not even phoned me back from my three phones call to complain and discus the issues. I am beyond words disappointed with the whole experience.

After a very emotional funeral for my brother we held a ‘celebration of his life’ at the hotel for family and friends. The attention to detail and understanding of our needs was great. The food was brilliant and the room allowed plenty of space for our large group.

Staff at front desk were amazing, wanted to always help. Had the 3 course meal very good quality. Room was great very spacious. Had a really good chilled out stay which is exactly what I needed. Would definitely go again.

Customer Service was abysmal, they couldn't find my booking and then shouted at me. Not enough staff. Rooms dated, small and poorly decorated.

Outside look if the hotel is very dated. I shed reception/bar and restaurant area it’s clearly been refreshed. However most walkways and our room was very basic in its appearance. Staff / customer experience was varied. Some individuals working very hard, others avoiding work and busy chatting. Off duty staff at bar drinking for a number of hours and chatting to staff on duty. Basic standard of training limited from staff member to staff member. Some struggling to poor a pint of beer…. Food in restaurant was reasonable.

Rooms and public areas were nice and newly refurbished. External parts of the building were tired. Issue with window not closing properly.

There were issues right from the start....no fridge in our room, which was guaranteed to us before our arrival, to store meds in it. Had to have a room upgrade, but the shower tray did not drain away the water in enough time, so the bathroom nearly overflowed. Dinner on one occasion in the hotel was dire, we sat at our table for one hour, hungry, before being told there were no potatoes. Our 5 year old son was crying, and we were annoyed and upset. They did have potatoes, they just didn't figure out early enough that they actually have to be cooked! Ridiculous. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant again. The swimming pool, while nice to use, had a lot of sand in the bottom of it and could have been cleaner.

Depressive dining- room no view as dated net curtains obscuring view - terrible menu and no mention that if you would like something that looked appetising it would cost a further £18.00 this was put in a set menu with no indication of that!! Food not good

Sadly the stay was below average and usually we have a great experience staying with Mecure. Rooms were good size, however they were not clean, couple of the complimentary water bottles had been opened already, lumpy mattresses and tired bathroom … the whole property needs an uplift. Dinner was a poor experience. We were told many options were unavailable. Only one vegetarian/vegan dish which was not tasty. Food ran out and was brought out in haphazard fashion. Some of the staff were rude and slammed our plates down. We were celebrating a special occasion and it was ruined due to the experience.

Friendly staff team, good location near the seaside. Beaufil interior in lobby areas, bar and restaurant. Some stuff could do with some updating but all all round very good hotel.
