Lovely villa

The villa was lovely but we were disappointed with initial greeting and orientation. We were not given any information on arrival about the restaurants (menu, booking process, prices). The phone in the room was not plugged/charged and our personal phone didn’t work so we felt abandoned. Eventually the phone charged and we were able to call reception and get the menus sent over. On arrival at the buffet restaurant (at which point we still didn’t know prices) we were told it would be better value for us to upgrade to half board. Unfortunately we were told this wouldn’t kick in until the next day so we had to pay full price, an extra $51. This tainted our stay. Once this was sorted we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Fairmont but the arrival process needs to be reviewed to avoid this initial disappointment.

Dear Mr Steven Stefaniuk, I would like to express my gratitude to your staff for the exemplary hospitality rendered to us during our recent nine-day stay at the Fairmont Maldives. Our butler, Suji, ensured all aspects of our stay proceeded smoothly and that activity bookings were facilitated with a fine precision. His passion for his work was well evident throughout our stay, as was his professionalism and competency. Commendations are also extended towards the culinary staff of Azure, especially the chef, Amanza, who's ability to cater his various seafood dishes to our palate was extraordinary. We would also like to thank the servers at Rasha, Kata, and Azure, for their warm and helpful service. Thanks are rendered, especially, to Sony, Caterina, Shazod, Jeet, and Nashiwa, who made our experiences at the restaurants so pleasant. The beach villas were extreme nice, the staff was beyond helpful and friendly. The food was superb. The only downside was that the stay ended too soon.
