Fantastic stay! The hotel is beautiful. It is right on the top of the hill of Rio Vermelho and it offers a free service from the hotel to the main street and the other way around. When we arrived we found very nice receptionists. We were initially given an accessible room, we requested to change it as we were there to celebrate our honeymoon. One evening the hotel staff treated us with strawberries, chocolate and 2 brigadeiros <3 The room was very nice and clean, with all the comforts. The breakfast, unfortunately, wasn't very good. The quality was poor. The positive thing is that we could order omelettes and tapiocas cooked at the moment. All the staff very nice and friendly. Definitely recommended! :)

I usually stay at the Mercure Hotel but upgraded to the Novotel. This was a mistake. The room was unclean, the furniture decades old, and the bathroom was moldy and outdated. The staff was terrific. Unfortunately, it did not make up for the uncleanliness of the room and the dated furniture and facilities. I will never stay at this hotel again. I will return to the Mercure Hotel, which is always excellent.
