Cigarette Smoke So Bad You Won’t Sleep and You’ll Feel Sick

I am currently trying to sleep in my “non-smoking” room on the “non-smoking” 8th floor. I can’t do it. The smell of smoke is so bad I can taste it. If you want a room that doesn’t smell of smoke ask them to put a bed for you in the fragrant smelling lobby, the Chinese restaurant, or the Lounge bar. The bed is hard too. You pay ¥1000 for a beautiful smoke filled room which explains China, if you can afford ¥1000 a night room you can afford a ¥200 fine for smoking in a room.

The so-called 5-star hotel turns out to be a disaster. Apart from the lounge at level 5, the hotel has litterly ZERO merit! 这个所谓的五星级酒店真的是除了5楼的lounge以外一无是处! The room is so user-unfriendly, for instances: 房间非常不人性化,设计不合理,具体体现在 1, No trash bin in the room, you have to go to wash room to dispose something every time. 卧室没有垃圾桶,不管你丢什么,必须去洗漱间;哪怕你已经自己挪到了房间,第二天清洁人员又顽固的放回去,第三天依然如此,完全不会想客人为什么要一天天自己去挪动。 2, The bath mat is useless and too thick, because when you open the doors in the bathroom, you would inevitablely move it around. 浴室的门下方没有留空间,但是地巾又特别厚,每次你开门关门,滴巾都会被挪来挪去,完全没有意义。 3, One of the 2 towels was put inside of the shower cubicle which definately will be wet, you have to take it out by yourself; 两个浴巾里有一个是放在淋浴间内的,一定会被淋湿,不知道脑子想的什么; 4,The hand washing sink/desk is too small, while the faucets are so huge, they are so incompatible, therefore you would easily hurt your hands or knock things over because of no space! 洗手台很小但是水龙头却又特别大,完全不匹配,导致没有空间,手很容易碰到,或者打翻东西; 5, No space for luggage in the entry of the room, because it senselessly occupied by a safer, you have to move the safer for making up space for your luggage, while the safer can easily been placed in anywhere else! Such a stupid placement! 进门处没有地方放行李,应该放行李的地方是一个保险箱。你得自己把保险箱挪开腾出空间去放行李箱,虽然原本的保险箱完全可以放在很多其他地方,非常不合理的摆放! Other things dissapointing: 其他让人失望的地方 1, breakfast is poor for a 5-star hotel standard (it costs 130 CNY or so), it's outsourced to a restaurant in the same building, it closes at 10am. All the restaurant staff are super inattentitive and even somewhat rude, they clean stuff in front of you, grab things underneath your hands when you are still taking food. Also the food selection was very limited, I have seen better in much cheaper hotels; 早餐完全不像五星级酒店应该的标准,也不值130的价格,比很多经济型酒店都不如。早餐外包给了同一栋楼的餐厅,所以10点就结束了.餐厅的服务员会在你还在夹菜的时候从你的胳膊下面收东西走,态度也很差。也没有太多食物种类可以选,非常差的早餐。 2, The receptionist was cold, their system is not efficient either - no sync when you changed room;前台比较冷漠,而且关键是系统也很不高效,换了房间系统没有更新,让你等。 3, Soundproof is poor, guests in other room party while open their door, you can hear everything till 1am, and no manager/staff to stop it! 房间不隔音,有住客半夜打开门大声喧哗到一点,完全没有工作人员管。

New hotel in central business district in walking distance to Opera, Canton Tower, etc. The hotel rooms are very modern but cosy. The hotel provides complimentary lounge for all guests with 24 hour drinks and food. I gave it 4 stars because there is no recognition of me as premium Accor member.

Good morning. I am staying and will continue to stay approx one week per month at the Grand Mercure Hotel Gz. For this reason this is very important to feel confortable. The first room I received had some air conditioning problem, and the room smell smoke. For this reason I change my room the first day. During my previous stay in this hotel, my room had a separate Bathroom (very nice room) However, for my last stay, the bathroom was "open" in the entrance. I was wondering if they are different design of rooms. Generally speaking, I am very happy with the service, the quality of the hotel, the breakfast and this is a great location.
