The location of the hotel makes it convenient to take public transportation MRT and shop and eat. Although the room that I stayed is a rather small, single room, it has most things I need except tooth paste and tooth brush. The only thing that is negative is that both the pool and the gym were closed at all times due to the outbreak of Covid-19, which is understandable.

Very clean and comfortable. One comment about room. I requested room far from elevator as below. Special request I'd like a non-smoking room I'd like a large bed High floor and far from elevator. However, the room given to us was just next to the elevator. Maybe receptionist misunderstood.

As always when in Bangkok I like to stay at the Ibis/Mercure Sukhumvit 24 tower. This time I chose the Ibis knowing that in the hustle and bustle of Christmas I would not be able to make much use of the room and rooftop access of the Mercure. However, I not only stayed at the Ibis my first 2 nights but then I had to extend another 2 nights, and yet another 1 night -for a total of 5 nights- because my Christmas dinner plans changed. I booked these new stays using the Accor app. The first two nights were perfect, but during my second extension -which I had already checked out earlier on- I was not even asked if I could move to another room... I guess they thought I had the keys still? I was not even provided a welcome drink or any ammenity that the Platinum status grants, given that it was late I went to bed. On the second extra check-in I made sure to tell them that I was indeed going to stay in the same room because I had to work from there but if possible I could had perhaps a welcome drink/soda/coffee/Coke anything or at least the basket of fruits that they usually give. The front desk clerk was not sure however her supervisor came and she told me that it was not possible because I had not payed on the app. I told them that is true that I did not pay with the app but that I was there before 6pm, that I very rarely pay with the app and that I always get the same benefits BECAUSE I am a Platinum member. She said that she could not even give me a Coke. I told her she was doing a bad job and perhaps even lying about the policy. Yes, I extended, and like in other Accor hotels in Thailand (Siam, Styles in Old Phuket, and Mercure at Chiang Mai) I always get a proper welcome not a lie about my booking. I mean, if the welcome drink was not given because I did not pay, why then I was given a special rate for the room, the complementary-breakfast and also late-check-out. All those are benefits of a Platinum membership. If the welcome drink/fruits was not possible because I did not pay in advance then why all the other benefits were given? There is no where in the limitations of membership where I can read a clear explanation of this. And, although I think the admin might have try her best the "not payed in advance" reason came like a lie to me. Maybe I am wrong, But even if I am, she did not try to make up for the lack of amenities or welcome drink or anything. Unforeseen extensions in the same hotel after checking out hours before should be treated like new stays or not? Other Accor hotels do that for what I have asked. Why not this one? Or is it just a matter of the local hotel administration? Not sure. But clearly not a nice experience.
