Excellent accommodations right in the middle of everything in Auckland. Luxurious rooms and a wonderful restaurant. Wonderful free breakfast in the morning, valet parking and many amenities. Would stay again when in Auckland. Highly recommended.

I was recently diagnosed with a disability were I need a mobility scooter to get around as I run out of air upon exertion. We arrived at Fable along with other cruise members by bus from a 6 star cruise(Regent) around Australia/NZ for two weeks, both my husband and I had caught a really bad cold on board near the end of our cruise. I struggled getting around the fable due to being an old building refurbished. Our room was so small we were unable to fit our two suitcases and two carry ons in the room and still have access to the bathroom during the night There was literally no were to put our luggage, my mobility scooter had to park in the hall way. The air conditioning also was not working and the room was so hot and no way to open any window. On asking for a larger room we were just fobbed off and told “we are fully booked” The only help we got was from concierge and he could do very little I have need a member of Accor for at least 10 years and this is way we were treated! Very disappointed and upset I ended up in hospital for a week only a few days later.

As a platinum Accor member we booked this hotel as our last luxury night in Auckland and it couldn’t be far from that- here is our honest review: The Good * Convenient and centralised location * The Bar staff in the evening (2 gentlemen) were very accommodating * The bed was very comfortable The not-so-good * Didn’t acknowledge my platinum Accor membership * We checked in prior to our room being ready (no problems) was advised a text would be sent when the room was ready- 5 hours later still didn’t receive text so we went back to the hotel to find the room had been ready for quite a while * Used my suite upgrade to the Duchess Room- we were in the room for 10 minutes before we decided there was no way we were staying in that room. The bedroom has the service delivery elevator adjacent to it which constantly rattled and creaked with its high use. How they could even put anyone who isn’t deaf in this room is beyond me. I note that the staff member did consult their manager who upgraded us to the Windsor suite which was much quieter however not fit for anyone who isn’t able to use stairs as the elevator doesn’t reach that floor * Rooms are tired and bathrooms are super tiny. I have had bigger bathrooms and toiletries provided at a budget motel lodge * The ‘ala carte’ breakfast was the worse I have ever experienced. I was told that I couldn’t have poached eggs because they had run out and hadn’t received any so I could have scrambled or fried.. when I asked why I could have eggs those two ways I was advised because they are pre-cooked and reheated! My husband opted for fried and they looked like dead oil covered eggs cooked hours earlier. The spinach was drowning in oil and the sausages were revolting. Luckily breakfast is complimentary due to my Membership but I would have been devastated if I paid the marked $32 for the slop provided. * Room Service only available to 8:45pm * On checkout - I was charged for my breakfasts So had to explain that it is complimentary with my level of Accor membership- which the lady needed to check * The poor concierge man looked ragged as he is the only one person hired to put the luggage in your room and bring down as well as parking the cars and trying to provide knowledge to the guests on best locations etc.. the desk is constantly unattended as he is over worked In all- I would have traded to another hotel at a further distance. It seems the owners of this hotel are trying to live off the name and location of this place while offering the most budget of services. I would recommend anywhere else but this one

I am also sorry for the issues you encountered with the Duchess suite room, and while I’m glad the team was able to move you to the Windsor Suite, I understand the inconvenience caused by the stairs-only access. The comments about the condition of the rooms, bathroom size, and breakfast experience are concerning. Your description of the breakfast service and quality is particularly disappointing, and I will be sharing this with our culinary team for immediate review. We take your concerns about the overall quality and service very seriously, and I regret that your stay did not deliver the experience you anticipated for your final night in Auckland. Super good location but poor reception service

This hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Auckland city center, with an LV shop right downstairs. Shopping is easy, allowing you to bring your purchases back to the hotel. While the hotel has an older charm, the rooms are well-maintained. However, being in an older building can present some discomforts; for instance, there are a few steps to navigate after exiting the lift, which makes handling luggage a bit cumbersome. Additionally, there’s a slight odor in the bathroom. Staffing seems to be limited; there are no bellboys available to assist with luggage at the entrance, and only one receptionist was on duty during the evening. The Asian lady who checked me in was not particularly friendly and lacked a welcoming demeanor. Furthermore, the member services were disappointing. The welcome amenities consisted of just four pieces of chocolate, and when I requested a late check-out, I was denied and only allow me to check out at 12:00 because I am a platinum member, not a diamond member. I chose not to argue further due to her unhelpful attitude. Honestly, there are several Accor hotels nearby, such as Movenpick and So Sofitel. I recommend that Accor members consider staying at So Sofitel if they’re looking for better service.
