The room was nice however the bed was very flimsy, the mattress was sunken and lumpy. And the waterfall shower in the bathroom leaked badly where it screwed onto the water feed pipe. Also there is a loud boiler above room 53 that we were in which was very noisy and disturbing late into the night. Other then that the staff were very friendly and the breakfast was fantastic.

You can always tell how good a hotel really is when you get there to find you are sharing the hotel with a large wedding party. This happened on or visit. We did not have a problem with the noise (don't mind people enjoying themselves). However, the overall service was not as good as our previous visit (exactly a year before). One example - We asked in the afternoon for a taxi to be booked for 7pm. When no taxi arrived the girl on reception she then booked again which made us late for our reservation - she made up a story about the lines from the taxi rank to the taxi's being down. When we questioned the taxi driver he said this was nonsense and they had not received our booking.

We won a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast stay at the hotel. We arrived Friday afternoon to a polite man at Reception. After check in, we visited Watford for the afternoon. On our return, we had a drink at the Bar- tried to charge to our room but no one had told us that we needed to leave card details at Reception. I went for a jog, the wife went for a swim only to find that the opening times at Reception were wrong. When she eventually swam, she enjoyed it. We went down for our pre paid Valentines Dinner at 8 p.m. The staff were very polite but we had to ask for our welcoming drink, our complimentary bottle of wine even our bread rolls! We were asked if we wanted water, we asked for still water and ended up being charged £5 for a bottle of water WOW! We had a drink in the Bar and went to bed- room was cold but o.k. We had breakfast at 09:30- polite staff, food was fine including cooked to order porridge and poached eggs. We went to check out around 10:30 a.m. The card which I had now registered was not able to be processed so I offered to pay by cash but they had no change! Eventually, my card was accepted and we set off. Ironically, my invoice later arrived by e-mail claiming that I had enjoyed an Express Checkout! All in all, a satisfactory experience but so much could be improved to make it a really enjoyable one!

Staff very friendly, bedrooms comfortable, can be difficult to get a drink at the bar, as they are always short staffed, restaurant desperately needs refurbishment.

I booked this hotel on 31 January for myself and daughter as a present we booked a 3 night stay with breakfast costing £310 , I did not take the extra cover at £70 as we had no intention of cancelling this trip , however due to extreme weather conditions our flights along with all other transporting was cancelled , and out with our control as we had flights booked as we were travelling from Edinburgh, I contacted the hotel reception to explain and to see if any help or rebooking could take place , I was told a sales team person would contact me, however no contact made and £310 less . I feel this to be daylight robbery , and appalled the hotel did not contact myself .

We arrived for a stay for my husbands birthday, on a gourmet escape voucher which had been bought for us as a wedding present. Firstly, we were put in a classic double room when we were entitled to a superior double room. I went to reception & asked & they moved us to the correct style of room that we should have been in. However, this room was freezing, there was a heater in the wardrobe which we got out but it made no difference whatsoever. When booking I had asked for a bottle of prosecco to be sent to our room on arrival, there was no mention of this when we checked in or when I went to enquire about moving rooms & so we never received it. The bathroom door also wouldnt shut. I don't like to complain & so we didnt ask to move rooms again, in fact we checked out at 6pm as we would both rather just be at home. Then 5 days after our stay I received a phone call, thinking it might be asking why we had checked out so early & if there was anything wrong but no, they wanted payment of the bottle of prosecco that we never received!!! We were so disappointed in this hotel.

The staff were very hard working and attentive against the odds.Bad management and lack of training and generally lack of staff was obvious .The room had no heating .we were moved to a larger room to house the 3rd bed we had booked as the room wasn’t big enough also with no heating and told the next night we would have to move back to the small room which we refused to do.i had to dry the family when we went swimming under the changing room hair dryer because the towels we were promised didn’t arrive. Reception didnt answer the phone because they were constantly being used elsewhere in the hotel covering multiple roles which was unfair for them. Great food great staff serious management issues .

The picture on the website do not look anything like what you see when you drive up to the hotel. I thought I was in the wrong place. The car park could do with pulling apart and being redo as it was more of a muddy field. The one small window in my room faced what looked like a car washing station in the car park and the window had condensation and mould around it. Everything just looked quite tired. On the plus side, the staff were nice and friendly.

I was staying in the hotel for two nights - one self-booked, and one booked by the company. After requesting if I could keep the same room for both nights - I was told this wasn't possible as it was 'a different rate' - so would have to check out in the morning, and check into the new room in the afternoon. This meant that I had to fully re-pack and store my luggage at reception while attending the daytime part of the event. When I went to check in for the second night - I ended up being put in the same room again - which made all of the re-packing in the morning unnecessary. Also - the first night - there seemed to be issues with heating in the room/hotel. The air conditioning / heating unit would only put out cold air - despite the temperature being put higher. When I reported this to reception - they said they'd send someone to fix it. When I returned to my room - there was a desktop sized portable heater. While not ideal - it did a job. On the positive side - the event went well, the food in the evening was very good - as was the breakfast each morning.

Myself and colleague hosted an all day event at Hunton last week which was expertly managed from the morning right through to the evening dinner event. Alex and her team catered to all our needs and accommodated our 70+ guests very well. A few minor issues with items in bedrooms but they even kept the bar open late for the team, which was appreciated by all! I would certainly book Hunton again for a corporate event.

Excellent position only a couple of miles from the Harry Potter studio tour. Driving was around 2 miles but you could walk it, about 1.5miles along a footpath according to the map. Did not eat at the hotel so cannot comment on their food. Twin room and bathroom were both clean and tidy with tea and coffee making facilities.

We came away for my partners’ birthday to visit the Harry Potter studios. The hotel was perfectly located, the room was lovely and quiet and the pool was an added bonus! However when we entered our room it was freezing cold! As in, colder than the corridor! We turned the heating panel into ‘heat’ but only cold air came out! I mentioned it to reception as we were going out and they said they would get someone to look at it for us while we were at dinner, however when we returned it was still the same case! I went down to reception again and the stressed out young man on the desk admitted that the heating was down and he was unable to fix it due to the amount of people trying to use it. We got a small electric heater for the room which eventually helped slightly, but we got into bed early to try and warm up!! The man from the front desk said he would try and reset the heating to see if that helped, but it didn’t come back on at all throughout the night. The bathroom in particular was unbearably cold, especially with the tiled floor! We did mention it on check out but the receptionist although very friendly, seemed decidedly uninterested, though I would imagine she had had to repeatedly listen to the same complaints all morning! I would have considered staying here again if the heating was definitely working, however for £140 a night I was a little disappointed that our special night away was tainted by the chill!

Great people - however the level of attention to detail was not good we arrived in our room to find tobacco on the window sill, part of an opened sandwich in the fridge! and the towel rail in the bathroom did not work - we asked for a Manager to come to the room - she was not great! however cleaned the room and took the sandwich BUT then told us that the towel rail was on a timer and would come on later in the day - It did not and subsequently when we looked it had not been working because the wire had been cut so it will never work until that is fixed!

No heating - absolutely freezing, Ming wait for dinner in the evenings, room very small, conference room was literally like. Ice box for two days, huge potholes in the driveway not good for my cabriolet- generally very disappointed
