RaftaRafta19 Business - TripAdvisor review

This hotel happens to be in the heart of the city and very close to the airport. It is very neat and clean. Rooms are very spacious and clean. Though I was on a business trip it was a great experience. I would suggest everyone to check in to this hotel as the prices are very reasonable and the hotel staff are very helpful. Love to visit this place again.

I went to Shanghai and stayed there for 1 month. I stayed at Hunting hotel : 汉庭酒店复旦店 虹口区松花江路2628号靠近邯郸路 (Hanting Hotel, Np.2628 Songhuajiang Road, Hongkou District). This 2stars hotel. The room was clean and comfortable but without refrigerator, laundry, bacony and wandrove. Made a bit uncomfortable because I have to stayed here for a month. The hotel provide 2 bottles of water, hair dryer, toothpaste, slipper and towels. Reception/maid is helpful but could not speak English and they will use translate program to help you. Around the hotel have a small shops and restaurants also laundry. Not too far from Fudan university but too far from subway walk 25minutes. But you can ride a bike only 10 minutes.

This is the only place that I've stayed in China, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but basically it's an ok-ish clean(-ish... No bugs, at least) place that's in a crappy spot if you're trying to get to town. And the mattresses are ROCK HARD. MORE THAN. ROCK. HARD. HARDER THAN ROCK. You get used to it, but they are brutal. Location wise, the street that it's located on is actually pretty quaint with street food at night and at least one restaurant that is very cheap and pretty good (No English here, so you'll need to speak Chinese or find another way to communicate. Adventure!), but you'll be taking a taxi to get to the metro ($2 each way, plus $0.75 for the subway. It's alright). And if you stay out past 11pm, you'll be taking a $10-15 taxi ride home, since the metro shuts down then. Overall, it's a good 30-45 minutes to People's Square. Price wise, it's 199-249 yuan per night, which includes a rather large room and basic room service: They'll make the bed, but don't expect clean sheets (they weren't changed in the week that I was there). Towels were exchanged daily (I think). One bottle of drinking water is provided per night, which was nice and tooth paste and a flimsy toothbrush is also available. I was in the 249 room and found it to be more than I needed. The 199 room would have saved me money without any loss of comfort. Front desk was helpful with a request to swap rooms and generally friendly. However, we were a little suspicious when they asked if we "really" wanted to pay for all the nights when we checked in... All my friends got it, so I suspect it's a cultural issue lost in translation as opposed to anything serious.. One piece of advise: When you check in, they will give you a slip of paper that looks like a receipt for your records. You will need this when you check out!! If you don't have it, there will be a question about proof of payment and they may ask for additional payment. I ALMOST got caught by this, so watch out! It's printed on the slip, but it's easy to miss. Also, the breakfast is very very Chinese and not that great. If you can get out of paying 15 yuan, you'll be better off eating somewhere else!

Small but comfortable

Jaydeo Couples - TripAdvisor review

Hello I stayed at the Joy Inn for a week. Its located in the North-East part of Shanghai. The room i stayed in was small but it was clean and tidy. The hotel provide extra things that i didnt expect to have e.g. slippers, toothbrushes, kettle, a good air condition machine. It is a modern building so i didnt see any cracks and it didnt smell. The staff there were really helpful, when we moved in, our toilet was blocked and they fixed it within a few hours. Most of them can understand English but you have to be patient with them and they will be able to offer advice & answer your questions correctly. You can catch the bus into the centre of Shanghai and it will take you around 30 mins to get there. Please be careful in taking a taxi to the hotel as most of the drivers do not know where it is, so always take the hotel leaflet that has a map of where is is to give to the driver. Its around 60 mins away from Pudong Airport.
