It was very good , rooms were great. Clean all staff were good. The only down side to the Tay was the food. We ate there 3 nights. Not enough options on the menu.

The room was clean and spacious, the staff were friendly and accommodating. Happy hour cocktails were really nice and the breakfast was good. However I have two complaints. The layout of the bathroom facilities was not ideal. Being able to see and hear my partner in the toilet was pretty gross and then to have to walk out of the shower directly into the bedroom to dry and dress yourself wasn't a great experience. There was also nowhere to hang towels so we had one over the shower door and one over the toilet door. The valet parking didn't really work. We were going to do it as there were no free parks nearby however all of the 'valet parking' area out the front was full and we couldn't even park there momentarily to take our luggage out. That area should be continuously clear for people to at least unload their luggage even if they aren't using the valet service. We eventually found a free park while we were waiting so didn't end up using it.

Completely and utterly miffed off after a stay at Pullmans Rotorua. We selected this hotel (at a price point WELL above others) for an “experience”. We certainly experienced a series of events that just layered upon an overall impression of “WTF” did I pay nearly $500 for? I never write reviews, however in this instance, I just really feel compelled, so others may avoid unrealistic expectations. We have travelled extensively as a family internationally (pre covid) so are speaking from experience. I appreciate that it was a full night, in very difficult times for the hospitality industry (and I truly am sorry about the impact Covid has had), HOWEVER with an anticipated full hotel on a holiday weekend in New Zealand, there is no excuse for lack of preparation, staff training or clean rooms. You are still taking my hard-earned money and I expect a certain level when booking a 5 Star hotel. There were glimpses of service but mostly it was just a collection of trying to be something that it is not and a whole bunch of “I’m so sorry” from staff. (or looks that say: “Lady, what’s your problem”) and I really am a nice, not overly picky person. 1. I booked a Lake view room for an upgraded price, and upon arrival in the allocated room on the 3rd floor opened the windows to an ugly white building with people peering back at me. A sliver of the lake was visible if you sat at the very left of the window. I would have been fine if I was expecting it but it really is a huge disappointment. My point is you should really adjust your room categories accordingly. Rom 30.. IS NOT a lake view room so do not allow it to be booked that way. The Rooms Division Manager, (despite manning the front desk checking people in) was kind enough to arrange a room move, but I genuinely had to beg and also change room type so our 8 year old would sleep in the king bed with us. 2. The room cleanliness is appalling. In the 1st room on the 3rd floor, when looking in the bathroom, the back of the lavatory was covered in dust and grime and other people’s pee. (pic) It really makes you feel icky if it is so obvious that housekeeping does the bare minimum that can miss something like this. Just a complete lack of attention to detail. We mentioned it at reception to a shrug of “ Oh, we can get housekeeping to look at that for you”. (not really, the point) 3. Even more irritating, is after moving rooms getting a knock on the door from the housekeeping supervisor to ask me about my issue with the room on the 3rd floor? Dude, go look at the toilet for yourself. If you can’t see it, then that’s half the problem. Don’t bother me about it anymore. 4. We let it all go, and decided to go for a drink in the bar. My child ordered a coke, my husband a beer and I ordered a negroni of the cocktail menu. They both received their drinks but I continued to wait until 15 minutes went by and as others came in and received drinks I started to get irritated. The staff were completely run off their feet. I went up to the bar again, just to see. The bar staff shared she did not know how to make that cocktail, and after a pleading look to her supervisor, the measurements of the ingredients were shouted to her hurriedly to make. She was very apologetic, and I feel for her, however, this is clearly a management staffing issue that should be addressed and anticipated. Bring your bar staff in for 2 hours when you are not smashed busy and teach them the cocktails on your menu for goodness sake. It just appears like you really do not have your stuff together. 5. At 9 pm after a rainy tour in the forest to see some glowworms my 8-year-old was shattered and ready for bed. We realized that because we now had a king bed we only had pillows for me and my husband. It really would be great to get my son a pillow also for in the middle of us. We called reception to ask for one. Very accommodating and said they would be right up………….1/2 hour later I call back down after trying to be as patient as possible…. Oh’ sorry, we have to wait until “so and so” gets back from parking a car or something. We can’t leave the desk unmanned. We should be up soon. Not my problem.. If you had said originally it would be that long goodness I would have just come down, got the key for the pillow cupboard myself. Again not being picky, but you expect a level of concierge service at this price point. I ended up sharing my pillow with my son. 6. Decided to make a lovely coffee with the machine in the room in the morning. But 1st had to clean all the dust of the cups and the machine. Super gross. Again, so surprising that something so visible to guests, and surely housekeeping is not taken care of when prepping the rooms. It’s a 2-minute job with a duster. So, this review might seem petty as anything but it needs to be said. I truly hope with NZ patronage, the Pullman can gain the experience its needs, but I will certainly not be back and it makes my stomach hurt about how much it was not value for money compared to other hotels in Rotorua.

Our check in was very average. Our dining experience on Sunday was very average until duty supervisor came to the rescue along with Zara. We weren't. seated at a table a young staff member just pointed at some tables and told to sit over there. After sitting for 15mins I went and asked for a menu. My husband went and got our drinks himself!! There was a large table of people sitting right beside us which was very noisy. When we asked what the occasion was, we were told to was VIPs. Apparently it was the GM from the hotel entertaining. We feel very sad he didn't choose to entertain in another area where they could be as noisy as they like. Food and drink was certainly flowing. Our dining experience on Monday night was absolutely wonderful we had Zara again and the team she was working with looking after us. Most of the staff were excellent. Just a shame about management, it would be good to lead by example.

We enjoyed out stay and found the staff very friendly. Having no parking was a bit of a pain, as we waited 30 minutes one day for the Valet parking. Apparently we got lost in the system! We found the Breakfast cold.

Very disappointing on arrival, no parking, ask for assistance with luggage which was load in trolley dropped down, damaged suitcase and then left luggage in trolley at reception. Had to push trolley with luggage myself to the room. Asked for valet service but never bothered to ask for car keys. Had to go look for parking road side. Room had a poor layout with no privacy. Buffet breakfast is very limited with choices. You can count the items. Poor selection. Room not cleaned the next day 16:00, had to leave the room for this to be done. Definitely not 5 star hotel.

Very disappointing. Not what I was told I was getting. More expensive than stated on your website. Required to pay $100.00 bond. No view of the lake as promised. No mobility parks available. The promised vouchers for the Polynesian Spa not forth coming. Nice room.

Friendly and warm welcome on arrival. Well accommodated. Very nice spacious and clean room on the 6th floor. The view was great you could see the lake and the town from our room, just that the balcony blocked the whole view, but good enough. Cleanliness was great.
