Nice room. Aircon was not working so they turned it on for us. I was disappointed not to have a kettle but found out as I was leaving I could have got tea and coffee free downstairs anytime. I don't like the design with the sink outside the bathroom...i prefer to brush my teeth in private and not handle doors in between the toilet and sink. But this was the only downside.

Holidays stay: Hotel located upper town, conveniently close by bus & metro stations. Close by the market where to enjoy fresh food on the go. Walking distance from Historical Center & Ribeira (~20 minutes on the way down.. on the way up, that is a different story :-) ). Rooms with airco and well sound insulated towards traffic. Breakfast is standard. A special thanks to Ricardo Sousa, General Manager and his Team members for their courtesy and kindness! I will come back for business.

Disappointing to say the least. Started off with friendly staff however when I had to call down to let them know that shower wouldn’t drain and had in fact flooded the bathroom and I needed to shower ASAP as we had a tour things went downhill quickly. A guy showed up with a bunch of towels (clearly this wasn’t the first time) and said he would send maintenance up. We waited 40 mins and I called down only to be told it would be more than an hour before maintenance would be coming. I said I needed to shower and the concierge said go ahead and shower. Ummmm madame the bathroom was FLOODED and she seemed unconcerned. I then showered like I was in an RV. Shutting it off while soaping up which is definitely not ideal in an unfamiliar shower. I got soap in my eyes many time. That evening I went down to the 24 hour lobby to get a water and coffee. I inquired as to where to get coffee cups and the staff working was horribly rude and pointed like I was stupid at some paper cups (which by the way do NOT fit the automatic coffee sizes out of the machine). The next morning the staff asking what room we were in scoffed at my husband when he told her which room we were in. First rude people we met in Portugal. Everyone else has been fantastic! Glad to never return to this hotel.

Cheery welcome. Comfortable room. Good soundproofing. Slept well. Breakfast selection quite good, though not always on top of replenishment of items. Convenient location, close to Metro. Hotel not easily identified from street, as no IBIS logo sign, though a backlit hotel name above entrance.

We stayed for 6 days. Very close to the famous Mercado and a mile from Ribeiro. The hotel was very comfortable. Great bed and fantastic shower. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.
