A great option and location for myusual stay in Viareggio. I would however suggest more bedding as the thin sheet to sleep under was not sufficient and it felt rather cold in the mornings. Parking is a great bonus

Confusing hotel that atrracts you under the Accor brand while not really being an Accor brand. We rented the "Quadruple" which is the apartament on Accor. There are I think only 4 rooms like this in the hotel and if you are travelling with 2 kids, this is your only reasonable option as the other rooms We stayed for 4 nights. Paid a lot. Am I unhappy? At first I was, then the place grew on me. Was it worth its value? Not sure. Just to compare - paid almost the same for 3 nights in Mercure in Rimini and was really happy with the value. See my review. At first you see the Mercure logo upon entry.. and then it's literally gone. What is this hotel? In 2016 it got rebranded from Uappala Hotels. 2016! So.. in the restaurant you have napkins from Uappala. Remember - 2016. Then you go to your room and there's a sticker on the room info that says it it's a Mercure, but just peel it off and it's Uappala. And then you go to the bathroom and it says "Abitalia Hotels & Resorts" which is completely a different brand. Then we look at the cleanliness. Accor has an AllSafe cleaning standard due to COVID. Just look at the photos of the sockets and light switches. They're made of some sort of rubbery plastic which makes all dirt stick to it. Nope, its not cleaned. Also walls are dirty, not from usual wear, but in our case there were ketchup marks on the walls. As far as housekeeping goes, beds are made up daily and towels are changed, so no issue here. I guess rooms are swept because I've never seen vacuum cleaners - this would explain why carpets on the corridors are just plain dirty. Breakfast - scrambled eggs are a disaster. They are a watery mess (I mean there is literally water coming out of them). Not sure how it's possible in the morning, but bread is stale. Pastries like cornetto are really good. So is the coffee - made to your choice at the bar by the fastest barista in the world. Hats off to him. Pool - meh. Something like 5x5 meters, 5 sunbeds. The pool is separated from the bar area by rusting gates and a glass walls, which would really benefit from some water and soap. Parking - not charged by the hotel, but fully occupied. Need to squeeze in somewhere until someone leaves. Personnel - everyone was really nice, especially the barista serving coffee. Non hotel related: beaches are in walking distance, something like 10 minutes. There is a free beach just accross the bridge in Lido di Camaiore. In Viareggio - beaches with pools are really expensive (in one we got an offer for 80 EUR per day). Bagno Firenze was at 30 EUR per day. Not that I recommend it wholeheartedly, but it did it's job. Also - take your own lunch with you unless you like waiting in queues. Center of Viareggio is 30 mins walking distance (tough with kids) so if you want to eat dinner at the beach, I suggest going to Lido di Camaiore. There are much more choices, although it's restaurants for hordes of people (especially on the weekends) serving Fritto Misto and pizza. If you want to find local restaurants - head up into the mountains (you can find a review for one of them in my reviews). Fun fact: the hotel has a 1th, 2th and 3th floor, go find them when you're at Uapp.. sorry, Mercure Viareggio 😉

Not friendly staff, small rooms, mold in the fridge, dirty pool. Everything looks very nice on web pictures. As a gold member of ALL Accor felt dissapointed as hell. You better choose another hotel. In the backyard of the hotel is big mess.

Not my favourite of my many Mercure stays Abrupt staff who really sent very mixed messages on hotel COVID rules Mouldy orange juice from the minibar. We reported this in and then no feedback, no apology nothing But the front desk who went and found my passport in the safe while I was on the phone - perfect service Ana from Accor Customer Care, whom i called about the lost passport, with her child screaming in the background whilst I was trying to sort out my passport issue, highly unprofessional

Kaloyan B Business - TripAdvisor review

Fast travel to the center & rail station by bus 25, next to relaxed river with ducks and beavers that you can feed! Across the river - the street Via del Fortino where you can find eating places, well stocked grocery shop COOP and even laundry:) The hotel is in the delivery area of food deliverers. Close by 24h petrol stations. Amazing fresh air in the morning. Full and strong 4G coverage - which is not so obvious in Italy.

The hotel was further from the beach and the main street than we realised but had an agreement with one of the lidos (Lido Pinocchio) where you could hire deckchairs/umbrella for Eur 20.00/day and use of their facilities which were excellent. A sign said that we could have a free welcome drink, but when we asked for it we were told it was only for Gold members, which is mean (however, very kindly, the gentleman receptionist gave us a voucher for a free drink as we complained). We had stayed a the Mercure in Rimini a few days before and there we had free aperitivo every evening, including nibbles so the standard is definitely not the same. Also we were not allowed to put any drinks on the room and had to pay cash for these which seems odd and inconvenient. There was a very limited choice of food in the bar. The room was very clean and had a balcony.

I've been in Mercure hotels all over the world, this is not good enough for your standard. Please do something about it... For sure i will not come back. The only good point was the girl at the check out, very kind and understanding.

Room was clean and generally OK but rather small for a 3 person room, and it was rather unfortunate the swimming pool was closed and none of the beach facilities had their swimming pool open on the grounds of being out of season which was surprising for end of May!

Although it concerns a new Mercure hotel and the dtaff has to get used to the new situation, it's a very good place to stay. relatively close to the beach and with a very nice (young) staff who are verey willing to help. Compared with other Mercure Hotels in Europe I want to express the excellent quality of the food in the restaurant although I was there on a Sunday. Yes, I recommend this hotel for leisure and business topics.
