I stayed for three nights with a friend to celebrate her 50th. I booked through the Ten Group concierge. We arrived at 12 noon, checked in and the room was not ready. We had lunch in the savoy grill and then went to the theatre. All our bags were left with the doorman and I left my handbag and coat in the restaurant. We arrived back at 4pm and asked for our room key. The receptionist would not hand it over until I had produced ID. I explained that we had checked in at noon and that I gave my details then and was not asked for ID. She said that was not correct and that she would be speaking with her team I explained that I did not have my ID with me as my bag was in the cloak room in the restaurant and it contained my purse with my ID. I showed the text message I had received regarding the room being ready and her response was that I could have found the phone and that I could be anyone. This is an impossibility as my phone is face recognition and passcode protected. I was utterly appalled. Again I explained that I did not have my ID as my bag and purse were in the cloakroom. Eventually my friend was able to produce her ID and only then were we given a key. I have stayed in some of the worlds top hotels in the world and I have stayed in the majority of the top hotels in London and never have I been asked for ID or treated in such a disgraceful manner. I was highly embarrassed as I had arranged this special treat for my friend. The receptionist obviously realized her mistake as she had two glasses of champagne sent to the room as a way of apology. However I will never stay at the Savoy again. I will also tell everyone I know to think very carefully before booking. With such high competition in the capital you really do need to consider the customer experience from check in to check out. Shame on you!

Stayed at the Savoy recently with my Wife for a double celebration. From the moment we arrived at the door to the minute we left we were warmly greeted and made comfortable by everyone we met. Special mention must go to Daniel who checked us in and helped us settle in for our stay., he's a real credit to the Hotel.

Rooms need some modernization...USB ports for charging and streaming Could have TV system that allows in room streaming...Netflix, amazon, Apple. Peloton... Staff and service was exemplary and work out facilities excellent

After watching the Savoy series we were really keen to stay. Our welcome to the Hotel was amazing, room was beautiful. Excellent service and attention to detail throughout the Hotel itself. Beautiful flower displays. Amazing attentive service in the American bar. The only downside was the Savoy Grill experience - we were not welcomed well or advised who our waiter would be. We were not offered a pre dinner drink, no wine was recommended and food not explained - this was not the standard of service you’d expect from this standard of restaurant. One of the waitresses tried to take our wine glasses before we’d even had any wine, and took the bottle out the wine bucket just to see how much we had left - all very strange, she was also doing it to other tables. We did speak to the Restaurant Manager on check out, who apologised and gave us some money back - but you don’t expect this experience at the Savoy - especially when the hotel itself is so amazing. Gordon Ramsey needs to take more interest in this flagship restaurant and not spend so much time on his TV programmes! The reception/welcome team were great, especially Ivan.

I booked The Savoy as a surprise birthday gift for my partner. The entire experience was absolutely beyond our expectations. We had visited the American Bar and The Grill previously and had wanted to stay for some time. The moment we were greeted at the door, through to the checking in experience, the tour of the room and beyond are memories that we will have forever. I had hoped our experience would be good, as we had both wanted to stay at The Savoy for some time, but it really did surpass any and all expectations. Being a guest at The Savoy was a big treat for us and we cannot wait to stay again. Thank you to all the staff who were so kind and helpful during our time there.

We were celebrating our Golden Wedding Anniversary. All the staff in the Hotel could not have been nicer or more helpful. Our room was lovely looking over the river and we were even given some gold balloons and a note of congratulations from the Hotel, which was so kind. We enjoyed our drinks in the American Bar very much before dinner, but sadly were disappointed with the cooking in The Grill. (Gordon Ramsay needs to do better for the price). Our breakfast in our room the next morning was superb. A banquet!

We took 3 rooms for 3 nights, for a 60th birthday long weekend and enjoyed the American Bar, the Savoy Grill, the River Restaurant, and Traditional Tea, along with superb breakfasts, over the 3 days. Staff were noticeably engaging and personal, adding up to everything feeling very special

The experience was great however I was disappointed with the delivery charge for any calls to the room. For the price guests pay it doesn't make us feel very looked after or special. It comes off cheap and tacky, leaving a bad taste upon leaving. Its a real shame as everything else up until seeing that on the bill was great.

Pros:Stayed a night at The Savoy celebrating my daughter’s 13th birthday. The check in was smooth and the room well appointed. The afternoon tea at the Thames Foyer was a grand affair, and though a tad expensive for the food that was on offer, it was a memorable experience nonetheless in an impressive setting. The breakfast next morning was satisfying and our lunch at The River Restaurant was really enjoyable. The staff were courteous and efficient and a small birthday cake for my daughter was much appreciated. Overall, a lovely experience and I would return in a heartbeat. Cons: No welcome drink offered. No upgrade offered. No courtesy car offered. Didn’t notice any personalised attention.
