My girlfriends and I had a lovely stay at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler. The staff were attentive and we enjoyed the close proximity to the village, with travel options via shuttle or private car. The hot tubs and warm pools were perfect for a crisp fall day, and the White-out Cosmo cocktail was delicious. I cannot wait to come back.

The hotel has nice amentities, which is typical of a Fairmount resort. The rooms and bathrooms were a little disappointing. The room was looking 'tired' and well used. The bathroom looked older. The shower did not work properly. When you pulled the handle to change to shower, only part of the water transferred. The drain itself was not draining properly and water backed up several inches. The closet door handle came off when we tried to open it.

There were a few amenities I enjoyed in this hotel, like the shuttle that takes you to the village and the free laundry and provided detergent was great, however I found a lot of other things lacking. We had no water in our room when we arrived. I tried to call the front desk to ask but the phone didn’t work. Finally called on my cell and got two glass bottles. The next time we were in our room the bottles were taken and not replaced. I woke up sick in the middle of the night and needed water so bad I tried to get into the mini fridge to get water and it was locked? Had to call again in the middle of the night to ask for water. Night two before I got sick I had to call the front desk to ask for robes and slippers because there were none In our room when we were headed down to the pool. We waited for 30 minutes and decided to head down without them.
Additionally I was annoyed that they only serve coffee in the lobby until 7 am. They said it’s because portebello opens at 7. So they only provide free coffee until the minute you can buy coffee? I’ve stayed in super cheap hotels that just have coffee out all day. That’s such a small thing I expect from a hotel. Also, because I tried the coffee in our room with the nespresso and it tasted so vile it made me gag. Maybe that’s what made me so sick. Overall, generally annoyed with our experience at this fairmont. We had to come here on business but I’ll recommend we stay somewhere else when returning to Whistler.

The housekeeping never vacuumed the floor the entire time we were there. There were crumbs all over because of the waste baskets being so tiny and something accidentally spilled. I kept thinking they would vacuum eventually but that never happened. Also, we were charged additional parking because the person who did the parking pass didn't put it for long enough? As we checked out the guy said it should have never been put for 7:30am. So we got charged for more parking than necessary but the guy who checked us out just kept saying we didn't owe anything...

As the title states, the manager, Mr. Ibrahim, went above and beyond to correct an issue we had with the valet/bell desk staff. Mr. Ibrahim was exceptional.

We stayed at Vancouver Island, Whistler and Lake Louise Fairmonts. They where all very easy to find, parking was simple, all the team very helpful and the restaurants offers a good choice of options.. The views from our rooms were fantastic with Lake Louise's being exceptional. Will definitely being staying again. Well done Fairmonts.

I was on location filming a tv show for the UK and basically lived at the chateau for 38 nights and it felt like home. The staff was amazing on all fronts and I got to know them - I really felt like I was in an alternate home and very comfortable

We had high expectations and a lot of excitement going into our stay at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler. As our first time in Whistler, we wanted to stay at a resort that would enhance our trip. Unfortunately, the Fairmont fell short in a few areas. First, the good - the customer service was exceptional! For every problem we encountered, the staff worked very hard to fix, address, and do what could be done to make our trip great. The issue was that for the quality that the Fairmont promises to deliver, we should not have encountered these issues. The Ugly- The bed was awful - not luxury at all. If you like sleeping on a board, you’ll love it, but if you actually want to sleep, beware. When we asked if anything could be done, the staff worked so hard to find a solution and even replaced our mattress. The 2nd mattress was better, but its firmness still impeded any quality sleep. We were informed that these were the Fairmont mattresses and all the same, but during our travel, we stayed at another Fairmont property in Vancouver, and that mattress was plush and divine! So, all mattresses are definitely not created equal! We were also woken up 3 days in a row at 7:30 am from construction. The hotel never said there would be any active work, so was shocking the hear a hammer drill that early. We understand work needs to get done, but let your guests know what to expect. The bad - The parking garage at the property is small and tight, and it was often difficult to even get a spot because the hotel seemed to allow day use of their amenities, so it was not just hotel guests using the garage, and for the price you pay to park, hotel guests should get priority. The room had several small electrical issues with switches not working and broken dimmers. (Not a big deal, but not as expected). The pools were very crowded with out of control kids, even the hot tubs, so not relaxing. Again, the customer service was exceptional, and each associated seems to genuinely care about the guest experience,. We had an amazing view from our room, and the hotel is located minutes from the main village, but far enough away to remain quiet and provide the feel of being in the mountains. The meals in the Mallard lounge were also very good! Unfortunately, the hotel property, from a comfort standpoint, failed to deliver the quality we expected and were looking forward to for our vacation.
