Have stayed at this property so many times and it’s a favorite. This time we stayed in a corner suite. Usually we stay on the 6th floor due to feather allergies but this time was put on 10. Seems like housekeeping could have done a bit better. Hair in the tub, a small stain on the shower curtain and we were supposed to have foam pillows but after the first night with pillows that go completely flat we knew they weren’t right. The bed.. well the last few times we realized the bed is just too firm. My reviews are usually glowing and I love the lobby and the courtyard ( it rained all weekend so we didn’t get to sit out there and enjoy the new bar space … and free tea bags in the room but 7.70 for a cup that used to be free in the lobby.. and I buy lot 35 and have it delivered to my house at 16.95 for a box of 25 I believe is just silly. I’m sure we will be back but it’s clear that the bed and pillows likely need updating and housekeeping needs to stay up on their game like they do on the 6th floor.

I was there for a conference in downtown DC. The location is great and overall the hotel was excellent. However my room was somewhat dated, and the toilet in the room kept running unless you pulled the handle up a certain way. Despite reporting it to housekeeping. it was not fixed in the 3 days I stayed.

We have been coming to DC and staying at the Fairmont DC for many years. It’s a great location and has always been consistently good. All aspects of service are outstanding. We are comfortable and feel at home. Even during the difficult times of Covid we felt safe.

We spent 4 nights at the Fairmont and were well satisfied with our stay. The room was excellent and we appreciated that staff only cleaned when we wanted them too. The shower met the highest standards and the corridor was quiet. We used the swimming pool and saunas and these were clean and not crowded. The only blemish was the difficult of getting a taxi outside on a Sunday. Probabaly out of the control of the hotel. We gave up waiting and walked the Mall.

I booked a king signature room, but as a Diamond member, was expecting to get an upgrade. Not only did not get an upgrade, the room looked onto a back alley, not a street view or courtyard. Front desk did not bring up the diamond breakfast for the weekend, I had to remind THEM of this. We did get the breakfast on Sunday, but had to eat in the lounge due to it being Easter Sunday and there was only a brunch being served NOT in the restaurant. It was not very comfortable to have to eat off the tiny tables in lounge, but the barman did his best to make it work for us. We did not want to eat breakfast in our room with no view. I had let the Front desk know that our son was going to join us and they did manage to find a a room on he 10th floor close to us. I am really unsure as to why we were. not upgraded to a suite in the first place, but it could be due to covid cleaning rules that are in place.
