This hotel was 5 stars but their restaurant The Juniper was not ver good for breakfast! The First breakfast I had was below average! Asked for overwell eggs and received over easy eggs. Had the buffet which was a small buffet of some fruit ,cereal,very overcooked scrambled eggs,and other small selections of breakfast items. Day 2 just ate off buffet once again scrambled eggs extremely overcooked (brown) coffee bitter. Day 3 figured I accept that the dishwasher must be the breakfast cooked so I ordered overwell eggs. Big mistake! Brown and dried!. This restaurant needs some real culinarily training if they r going to charge those prices!

That was not the cheaper option, anyway I pick because this hotel seemed to be a fine one. The front desk for check-in was fine. When we got inside the room, quickly disappointed with finishing, and patching... not exactly what the pictures showed me. Well, that first night the toilet stopped working, and this was not stuck, that was no water to flush, called the hotel and no one came to fix it, one waiting to use a toilet we had to call again, then a technician showed quickly, he fixed the problem temporarily, at the third night the same problem with toilet happened again, I called at the night and they sent no one. Well, we all slept, in the morning everyone was in hurry to use the toilet, of course, I called again and they sent a technician, the guy fixed the problem, basically, inside the toilet box there was one part not good and they did not have the part to replace it, so they were patching every time it breaks, we did not pay to face this, super disappointed. During the stay, I tried to use the GYM facility with my kid, and that place was crowded, not good for me, anyway I tried to use but this guy(said be the manager of the place) came and told me I could not stay there with my kid, not kid-friendly, we were in family and I like teaching my kid, workout together, disappointed again. There was a complimentary bottle of water in our room, well, I drank some of this water, afterward, I noticed the bottom of the botter was dirty, black little spots of dirt, I have pictures if you want to see. I tried to drink water from hall spots, however, the water was kind of white, I decided to not drink water from there and we bought some in Walgreens. We all three faced allergy symptoms, and there was much dust in that room, when we all left the hotel definitely all symptoms disappeared without medicine, this is not a coincidence. This survey is not a zero because some people(front desk) there seem to care, they sent a treat to the room and offered one breakfast, which was good, but for what we faced I cannot be satisfied.

The Gold Floor staff did an outstanding job of recognizing our wedding anniversary stay in mid-January. Everyone congratulated us personally and made recommendations to ensure we had a memorable stay even though it was for just one night. Little items like an anniversary card signed by the Gold Floor team, some roses in the room and help with making reservations were wonderful. Overall, the Fairmont staff did an excellent job of getting to know their guests and ways they can help make their stay enjoyable. Great customer service! Looking forward to returning to The Washington DC Fairmont soon!

We spent MLK Jr weekend in DC and a fantastic stay at the Fairmont. We had been planning this trip as a special getaway with certain room requests. Daniel Larson reached out to us a week ahead of our stay to address our requests, and then personally managed our situation after we arrived. This old style customer care is one of the reasons we continue to return to Fairmont. We had a lovely lunch at Juniper, where we received excellent service from David and restaraunt staff, especially Julio and Oscar who we have come to know over the years - and look forward to catching up with them when we visit. But the highlight of the stay was our accomodation on the Gold Floor. Moussa Niang nd his crew (Kelli and Stanline) created the perfect atmosphere of comfort and hospitality. The breakfasts and evening snacks were a gourmet feast, especially the small petit fours desserts. Although the amenities were wonderful, the most consistent thread that runs through the fine tapestry of the DC Fairmont is the kindness and attentiveness of the staff. We keep coming back because of the comfort - but in a town full of options, we choose Fairmont because the staff is unfailingly kind.

As a business in Washington, DC I am always looking for great places to work, bring client and or whine down. I chose the Fairmont as a place of choice for the evening and I do not regret it. My greatest and most pleasant run in was Michaiah at the front desk. She is the consummate professional. Experience is everything and I will continue to patronize this hotel because of the hospitality, ambiance and service.
