Paradise: Spacious suites, large pool, cultural activities, aloha spirit

トリップアドバイザーの評価 5.0/5

ClaireWithLove トリップアドバイザー認証口コミ

We stayed four nights in a pool-side suite which came with a walk-out patio door to a table and four chairs, two lounge chairs (no umbrella), and a nice chair and footstool for reading/relaxing. It looked like our 108 suite plus two others had a ocean view, but the other pool-side suites would have more a view of the pool. The suite's lounge chairs had a cushion that was thinner than the pool-side lounge chairs which was green and quite plush. The suite has two double beds, large bathroom with separate tub and double sink plus a nice laundry basket for dirty towels and a wooden rack for hanging a wet bathing suit. The living area has a large sectional couch, TV, table and chairs for dining, and the coffee/microwave area. Tea kettle, microwave, and refrigerator, and a Nespresso Vertuo coffee maker. The white stainless steel Fairmont Kea Lani water bottles are the nicest water bottles we have ever had - keeping water cold, lift up straw and a white ring for carrying. Water stations in the hotel and by the pool. At the pool is reef-safe suntan and after sun lotion in SPF 30 and 50 that you can use. There are nice white covers for the lounge chairs and plenty of towels. There is a smaller, colder adult lap pool and hot tub (hot) and good size family pools with a slide and less hot hot tub. One of the special things about the Fairmont is the Hawaiian cultural center (Hale Kukuna) in the lobby, with lovely artifacts showcasing some of the culture and books you can read, and the cultural activities: Hula, ukelele, lei making (we made a ti leaf bracelet), and language classes. Ke'ala is a hula dancer who has performed around the world for many years and truly exemplifies the aloha spirit. I loved her hula, lei making, and ukulele classes. One of my favorite memories is the ukulele class where Ke'ala and Kapono were playing along with me and singing a beautiful song about Haleakala. Ho'ohu is another lovely teacher who I enjoyed meeting and talking with in her hula class. Tips: - The outrigger canoe excursion can get booked up, so make reservations with the Concierge even before you arrive. Ours got cancelled due to the waves and unfortunately, it was full for the subsequent days. - Parking is free. I saw a Fairmont van at the other hotel we stayed at, so I think there is a service to take you to another restaurant within a certain distance. - Shops at Wailea (also restaurants and a good gourmet/grab and go or on-demand food market - Island Gourmet Markets (love the Chicken Teriyaki)). Need to drive or see if the van will take you or about a mile away. - You will need to scan the QR code to see the list of activities - cultural, exercise and water activities. Note that the hula and ukulele classes did not show up on the Android/iPhone version, but did show up in the tablet and possibly the computer version. Suggest you go to the Concierge to have them print you a schedule of the activities for when you are there, so you can see all of them. - There is a lovely path connecting the hotels and along the cliff-side with stunning views of the ocean. Suggestions for improvement: - Fix the Android/iPhone version of the activity schedule so that the hula, ukulele classes show up consistently. Suggest ensuring the classes show up under "culture" option and "all" activity option since currently they are not showing up on the phone version. - A paper copy of the week's activities would be appreciated and easier than navigating several screens and clicks on the phone to try and see activities. Mention the walkway next to beach and the Fairmont van transportation would be nice. At the next hotel we stayed at, we got a nice sheet with the week's schedule, daily activities, and special cultural activities along with additional extra cost, special activities. - Consider having some activities in the evening after dinner. I was torn between enjoying the sun/pool/ocean and going to a class. - Add some additional hula and lei/weaving classes for people who are staying a week so different things are learned. We totally loved our stay at the Fairmont and look forward to coming back.

Luxury family-oriented resort in Wailea

We enjoyed an excellent week with extended family in a three bedroom villa at the Kea Lani. The suite-only hotel is very family oriented. Our villa was lovely, nicely furnished, ocean views from all three bedrooms, and very quiet. Note that while the kitchen is generally well-stocked, it does not include an oven. The laundry facilities and private patio with plunge pool were great amenities (as is proximity to the beach and the pool). There is very good snorkeling right off the beach. The fitness center is reasonably well equipped (especially with aerobic equipment) but is on the small side for a hotel this size and could use more and a greater variety of weight machines. That said, it was fairly empty of people both times I was in there. My wife had a massage at the spa and noted that the spa is not as elaborate as the spas in some of the other hotels in Wailea (e.g. no saunas or whirlpool baths). The staff, from valet parking to housekeeping, were uniformly friendly, helpful and service-oriented. The waterslide in the pool is a popular kid amenity. There is a separate adult-only pool, which is more serene than the main pool and not crowded (I suspect because the hotel attracts mostly families with kids). Kids under 5 eat free in the restaurants, which is a great amenity. The beach is lovely and relatively private. We visited during a holiday week and the hotel never felt excessively crowded. The hotel facilities and grounds are attractive and well maintained. The hotel offers complimentary daily activities for guests, including yoga. I would definitely classify the Kea Lani as a deluxe resort property and note that it caters to families with kids.

Aloha michaelj726, Mahalo nui loa for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and comprehensive review of your recent stay. We are delighted to know that your week in one of our three-bedroom villas provided a comfortable and memorable setting for your extended ʻohana. It is wonderful to hear that the spacious layout, ocean views, private lanai, and plunge pool all contributed to a relaxing experience. We are equally pleased that you enjoyed our convenient beach access, snorkeling, and family-friendly offerings—from the waterslide to our Keiki Dining Program. Your recognition of our colleagues, from valet to housekeeping, truly means a great deal to us. Providing warm, attentive service is central to who we are, and we look forward to celebrating your kind words with the team. We also appreciate your thoughtful feedback regarding the kitchen amenities, fitness center, and spa. Insights like yours help us better understand what enhances our guests’ experience and where we have opportunities to evolve. While our spa and fitness offerings may differ from some neighboring properties, we are continually exploring ways to elevate these spaces and better support the well-being of our guests. Mahalo once again for your generous review, we look forward to welcoming you and your ʻohana back for another unforgettable stay in Wailea. Warmest aloha, April Kala | Director of Front Office

Took my mom for her monumental birthday. Just Mom and son. We had the most wonderful time. From our arrival experience, each meal. Every single member of staff was special in their own way. We had the breakfast every day. What a spread. I have to say a special thank you to Venus who served us breakfast. One of the mornings I wasn’t feeling so well. I asked her if she had a diet sprite. She told me not to worry about it and she’d find me one. She did within a few minutes. After that breakfast the following two morning although she wasn’t our server she stopped by and said hi to me by name with a Sprite Zero. This small touch meant the world to me. Venus is smiling every minute and truly cares about the guests. Thank you Fairmont for making our stay so wonderful.

Aloha joshb988, Mahalo nui loa for sharing such a thoughtful and heartfelt review. We are truly honored that you chose to celebrate your mother’s monumental birthday with us, and it is wonderful to know that your time together was marked by comfort, joy, and memorable moments. From your arrival experience to each dining occasion, it brings us great pride to hear that our colleagues helped make your stay exceptional. Your kind words about our breakfast offerings and the warmth of our team mean a great deal to us. We are especially grateful for your recognition of Venus. Her attentiveness, genuine care, and thoughtful gestures—especially ensuring you had exactly what you needed each morning—reflect the spirit of hospitality we strive to embody. We will be sure to share your kind praise with her; it will no doubt brighten her day. Mahalo once again for choosing Fairmont Kea Lani and for taking the time to share your experience. We look forward to welcoming you and your mother back for many more special moments to come. Warmest aloha, April Kala | Director of Front Office

My partner and I chose the Fairmont Kea Lani based on our wonderful experience with the Fairmont on the big island. Unfortunately, Kea Lani did not deliver on the expectation. First, it’s a stunning property, one of the few on the Wailea coast that looks like it was designed to fit into and not stand out from the landscape. The rooms are generously sized and beautifully renovated. Pilina and Ko are excellent dining options (shout out to Chris and Drew who took excellent care of us at the respective establishments). And that is where the positive feedback ends. There were a lot of mishaps you wouldn’t expect from a 5-star hotel, I’ll list a few: (1) there was almost never anyone staffed at the adult pool to help set up chairs. It was self-service if you didn’t rent a cabana and therefore you were almost always cleaning up after other guests in order to claim your own chair. (2) property cleanliness was also an issue in general. On multiple occasions guests would leave trash and empty glasses on or around trash receptacles and they would sit there for hours and in one case days. While I think this says a lot about the other people staying at the hotel that contribute to a diminished overall experience in the first place, I would still expect it to be addressed quickly by staff. (3) I got a pedicure at the spa which was about as good as a classic $30 pedi in my neighborhood. On top of that, I asked to use the locker room to change out of my yoga pants for the pedicure and they were so rigid about their policy of pedicure bookings not having access to the spa locker room (even for 5 minutes?) they made me change in the bathroom instead. (4) breakfast was good but the coffee was weak and espresso drinks are extra (on top of a $70pp rate). Give me a break. (5) multiple issues with room keys: dead battery in the card reader that somehow wasn’t noted by housekeeping or anyone else who entered the room multiple times in the period when the battery was dying unbeknownst to us. Also, our cards expired erroneously before our checkout time. When I’m staying at a property like the Fairmont, I expect as little friction as possible to the point where I’d rather the challenges I described be alleviated by an adequate resort fee rather than feeling nickel and dimed or inconvenienced at every turn. To be fair, Shaina on the management team reached out immediately when I complained about the trash in our hallway. She seemed genuinely concerned with our feedback and tried to make it right - for which we were extremely grateful - but despite her best efforts things just kept going wrong. I must also say, the staff were wonderful and I do not blame them for their mistakes. We stayed during a quiet week between the Thanksgiving and Christmas rush. My only hope is that the mistakes we experienced were not the result of an overworked and exhausted staff but rather gaps in hotel operating procedures and protocols that could be addressed by management.

Aloha nycnette, Mahalo for taking the time to share such detailed feedback regarding your stay with us. We truly appreciate your thoughtful observations and the opportunity to hear where we succeeded, as well as where we fell short of your expectations. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed our beautifully renovated suites, our thoughtfully designed property, and the dining experiences at Pilina and Kō. We’re especially grateful for your kind words about Chris and Drew, and we’ll be sure to recognize them for their exceptional service. At the same time, we sincerely regret that several aspects of your stay did not meet the high standard you—and we—expect from a Fairmont experience. Your detailed notes regarding pool service, property cleanliness, spa policies, breakfast, and room key challenges are invaluable, and we will be reviewing them carefully with the relevant teams to ensure these gaps are addressed. It’s our goal to provide a seamless and relaxing experience for all guests, and your observations highlight important areas for improvement. We also appreciate your acknowledgment of Shaina and her efforts to resolve concerns during your stay. It’s heartening to hear that our staff’s care and dedication were recognized, even amidst the challenges you experienced. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide the flawless and effortless stay that you rightfully expect from a Fairmont property. Warmest aloha, April Kala | Director of Front Office
