Bit dissatisfied with the room we were given, small window to the ocean, photo’s on website are clearly photoshopped. Overall cleanliness of the room was bad, mold in the showers (changing the seals is not a big job and can be done relatively quickly) the tap was greasy(?) and so we had to clean it ourselves before using it. The breakfast was also very badly done. Nowhere in Italy have we been served such horrible coffee, which came long after our breakfast had been eaten. The buffet is nice and extensive, however people just crowded to it and didnt really stand in a line and wait to be served. Also, with a dining room with I would guess at least 100 people I would hope that more than one person would be serving. The location and service otherwise is very good though. Through a misunderstanding we had 2 seperate beds in our room at first, but by the time we came back in the evening this had been corrected to 1 double bed, fantastic! The location of your hotel on the beachfront was also good, although it was a pretty long walk to the centre of Livorno. Overall the hotel could have been better in a lot of small ways that are not so hard to fix. I think if these points are fixed, the hotel would indeed be a 5 star experience. Now, however, I wiuld not recommend this hotel at this price point.

excellent parking facilites, beautiful building, very comfortable bedroom with excellent bathroom. would have rated our stay as a 10, but let down by the restaurant. We would stay at the hotel again, but would eat elsewhere.

No Porter or valet parking facility on arrival ( assumed this was Covid related ) . Room excellent size and amenities but a bit tired , especially the bathroom ( too dark !) . Pool area not managed - with people blocking out beds for long periods of time while they were absent . Great dinner - menu choice, wine choice and food taste service sometimes slow . Breakfast - well managed and excellent choice and taste . Check out very efficient . Overall considering Covid very good overall experience !

Very good for the room and the breakfast and the SPA area. For the Bar upside and the swimming pool it’s very small and the servers don’t smile and don’t take care of you if you don’t insist. They forget you are a customer.

First room offered had a ver bad sewer smell. Staff attempted to have us stay in the room and covered smell with perfume (2 attempts) Second room offered had a leaking airco. After complaining it was ‘fixed’. It took another complaint from me. This resulted in the staff to shut down the airco partially.

After our initial disappointment, we queried whether the room we were given was a superior as per our booking. All website photos showed superior rooms with walk-in shower, necessary as I have knee problems. Our room had a small bathroom with shower over the bath. We were quickly and efficiently moved to a more suitable room and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff were excellent.

Despite being out of season, the Grand Palazzo welcomed us very warmly, even offering us a complimentary drink in their rooftop terrace bar and restaurant. Our suite was very comfortable, with a wonderful view of the sea and promenade. The bathroom included both bath and shower, and there is a coffee machine in the room. Safe parking is available in the courtyard outside. The rooftop terrace restaurant was friendly, and breakfast is generous, laid out in the main restaurant on the ground floor. This was not open for other meals during our stay. We would certainly use the hotel again - Livorno is a charming town with lots to see.

Good for parking but the restaurant had very little for vegetarians. I hung out my request for breakfast but it was not picked up off my door even though I did tis at 9pm.

An hotel that doesn't deserve at all 5 stars

Facade of this hotel is beautiful but inside it's another story. No hot water for 2 days, maroon water, very few staffs... Let's start from the beginning, before our arrival I told them that I was allergic to feather and make sure nothing of the bed would be. They assure me they will take care of it. However when we arrive in our room, it was feather. We nicely call the reception, he said he can finally see the notes about feather and his system but couldn't do nothing as he was working alone in the hotel (it was 11pm). The receptionist help us by giving us 2 thin cotton covers to replace the overlay matress. He didn't help us to remove feather overlay mattress and redo our bed. The following day, we ask for help to find an overlay mattress as the bed are very uncomfortable... Very old mattress, with yellow stains everywhere... We can feel the base of bed. Unfortunetaly, they never came and we stay like this. So we had to dorm on very uncomfortable bed (and even with the overlay in feather, my wife try it and it wasn't confortable either). The soil of the shower was a plastic plate who was not stable at all, it was curvy because too old so I almost fall down... Hot water wasn't available the first night we arrive, we heard another client also complain, and the day after we also had to take a cold shower... It came back the day after, water was still a bit maroon.. Another day, we had wifi problem, it wasn't available for quite a long moment, especially when you have to work. Cleaning is not perfect... I had pictures and there is a lot of dust under the bed or in the corner. The breakfast wasn't either of 5 stars... I mean in 4 stars hotel, it's more diverse and quality is better.... At the Palazzo, you have a 4 hot dishes: cold eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes (without any sauce) and green beens. Pastry are not really good. Also you have to spay for the spa 35 euros/pers. Even if you just want to have access to the swimming pool... It's the first time as a client of the hotel, I had to pay to go the swimming pool. And last but not least, the last night,they were hosting a student party on the ground.... Very loud music and drunk people... We could hear it from our room, the boom boom of the music. I'm young and love to go out, but i don't want to have a discotheque in my own bedroom. To conclude, you can feel the amazing vibe of the hotel, I'm sure it has been of 5 stars in the past, but it's not anymore... The hotel really need to be review and have some important improvement to stand as a 5 stars.
