Incredible Stay

We used Suite Night Upgrade for this stay which turned out to be a lot more than the name suggested. We were allotted a suite room on the highest floor which was an incredible gesture. The suite itself was as new and fully functional, and this is a small feat in itself. Often we will notice some minor issue with the hardware or maintenance, even for high-end hotel, but Sofitel City Center passed with flying color. Well done to the team involved and keep up the good work on quality control, housekeeping and maintenance. Same goes for services - all requests were met promptly and as promised. We did not realize there was a water filtration system in the room which would have been sufficient but our request for additional water was delivered anyway, and this was most appreciated. Just one minor issue as I do not think my points are awarded correctly though apart from this everything is flawless. Breakfast is of high quality though somehow we feel that it did not really stand out unfortunately. Just throwing out a few ideas but this could be due to the lack of differentiator, and limited local food on offer which could make things more interesting for visitors. A separate a la carte menu might help with the choices and limit food waste though it might work on some establishment and not the other especially in busy hour. I understand that the executive lounge is under renovation and the current location is temporary. Again, the food on offer is of high quality and covered all the bases whether looking for something to snack on or something more filling. The current cocktail menu on offer is interesting and different. Access to Virgin Active is a unique experience and thoroughly kept my partner occupied. Just a pointer that they do not actually offer 3,000m high altitude training simulation as shown in the TV directory so might be best to double check this to avoid possible confusion for future guest. Also, the late check out and the alternative room offered for day use was very kind of the hotel in which we are most grateful. Definitely a hallmark of high-end services befitting the hotel stature and room category. Overall, the personal here is highly professional which is a big plus but if one was to arrive from Bangkok and Bali where services are more 'overly' friendly then the vibe might be quite different. Probably no right and wrong way to look at this though I find this to be noticeable and most interesting. Last I heard the team at SQ manage to master the dark art of finding a perfect balance and even beat them at their own game though this might need to be investigated further.
