Just had the worst 3 course meal of my life, ate the lot and I am still starving. The beef was cooked on the surface of the sun and the veg was blander the daytime TV. Bar closed at 10.30pm so no chance you could drown your sorrows after wasting your money at this tip.

This is our fith visit to this lovely hotel grounds & spa. We had yet an outher lovely stay in a very clean comfortable warm room The breakfast was great very quick service & hot superb staff. We used the spa & pool the Three days it was spotless and very relaxing Staff Again were great. Were Booking Again Very Soon Great Value Aswell in beautiful Area. Julian & Lorraine Seymour 10 / 10. Thanks to all at Walton hall hotel Wellsbourne.

After a lot of searching, we finally decided on Mercure Warwickshire, Walton Hall to be the venue for our eagerly anticipated wedding. The setting looked perfect, the building with its history and character made what we thought would be the perfect choice. In fairness to the hotel I will at this point say that during the planning process we dealt with 3 wedding planners which may go someways to explaining for some of the issues. I’d also like to say that our guests enjoyed the day as they were unaware of what was planned, and only my wife and myself knew what didn’t happen as expected. On arrival, there was no staff member to greet guests and guide them to bar / rest areas ahead of being called in for the ceremony, and although we had paid for a Master of ceremonies as part of the package they were not present on the day. This would lead to several misunderstandings and lost time which resulted in some of the guests becoming bored due to a lack of leadership The wedding breakfast overran by an hour, there was confusion amongst the staff regarding what should have been happening and again a lack of leadership was evident, this led to our band not having the area agreed for them to set up and were left waiting in the hall reception area for an hour, when they were eventually allowed in the were told to set up in the wrong spot which meant we were then stuck with it for the evening . As mentioned earlier, we’d chosen Walton Hall for the character of the building and how wonderful our photos would look from outside with the building as the backdrop. Sadly this was not to be as the gravelled area outside the hall had become a car park due to the failure to section it off as agreed.. We did contact Walton Hall outlining our issues, they were very slow in responding due to lost emails / key staff holidays, but when we eventually thought we going to get some feedback they never responded again despite indicating they would.

We were booked in for a three night stay with new year eve gala. Whilst our room was clean the balcony door and windows were rotten resulting in major draught and noise from the balcony divider which was falling to bits. The bar had run out of draught beer and cider 5 coaches were squeezed into a small function room where the tables were so close together you couldn’t get through. The food was very basic, mash potato and cabbage and stew which was cold So called gala dinner was all of two choices of starter and main course but then we were advised if you weren’t a vegetarian you couldn’t have the vegetarian option! The food was horrendous, there were insufficient staff so the entertainers had to help serve and clear the plates! Fire alarm went off during the starters but no one knew what to do eventually it was switched off but no explanation given Our new year was ruined and whilst the staff did their best there was no organisation or communication and total lack of management Definitely a hotel to avoid at all costs which is a shame as the setting is lovely

Stayed for 4 nights over Christmas. The hotel didn't appear that busy, which we like. Greeted at Reception by "Gift", we did remark on her very special name. Excellent service, nothing was too much trouble. A definite asset to Walton Hall. Breakfast was good. All staff very helpful and cheerful. The rooms in the main Hall are great, with some fabulous views. We have stayed at this hotel on several occasions and just love the grounds and the setting. Great for walking. Looking forward to our next stay.
