Absolutely awful! We checked in after 8pm after a 5 hour drive to Manchester. As we arrived late, we dropped our stuff in the room and headed straight out to get some food. Upon arriving back to the room at about 11.30pm, we attempted to put the heating on as the room had not been heated and it was minus 2 degrees outside. The heating would not work. As it was late by this point and we had work to do in the morning we decided to just get in the bed and try to sleep. You don’t expect to have to sleep fully clothed in a hotel but that is what we had to do. In the morning - still minus 2 and to give you an idea of the local conditions they closed Manchester airport due to snowfall - we informed the hotel of the broken heating and asked if someone could fix it, only to be told that it was a known issue and it could not be fixed during our stay. We asked to be moved to a room with heating and were told that that was not possible. I needed to work from the room and was told that someone would arrive with an electric heater, but this took 3 hours and repeated phone calls to reception to actually arrive. It was also not hugely powerful or effective. It is unacceptable to not inform guests either before check-in, or even indeed AT check-in, that they will have absolutely no heating in their room, particularly during very cold weather conditions. It is furthermore astounding that, should this be the case, replacement heating devices were not put in rooms PRIOR to guest arrival. The decor is tired and bizarre, and the breakfast was probably the worst hotel buffet breakfast I have encountered, but we could have tolerated this provided the basics (i.e. heating during cold conditions) were met. Booked by my partner’s work and we’ve asked that they not put us in the Ibis Styles again.

Well located but no air condition

The location is great and you can find a map guide to the Etihad Stadium on the counter. However, the air conditioner did not work! It was freezing!

Better and cleaner room than our last stay. Much more welcoming but still some down falls. No staff acknowledged us unless we said something first. Bar team yelled at my partner that they were closing despite night team confirming residents could get drinks whenever. So rude. But easy stay and decent value for money.
