I got 6x parking tickets sent directly to my boss as my reg was wrongly inputted by staff. This got me in serious trouble at work so everything is irrelevant.

Dear Mr B., Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us at Mercure Haydock. I am sorry you were issued fines during your stay with us, I can see all fines have been waivered for you with confirmation sent by Parking Eye to the registered keeper of the vehicle. Unfortunately, staff members are entering the registration numbers into the system at on behalf of our guests to reduce the number of contact points for guests during the pandemic. The I Pad terming would most definitely be a high risk area if guests were to enter their own registrations. I can see the car registration was entered incorrectly with the two letters 'F' and 'S' entered incorrectly. This is down to human error and I sure you'd agree the two letters sound similar especially when spoken through a mask and the receptionist is sat behind the screen. Should you need a letter sent to you employer, explaining the error please do let me know. I really do hope this has not deterred you from returning in the future. First night I was very cold and my clothes got damp as no heating, staff helped once I told them but the hotel should check rooms are ok before they allocate them

We have stayed here many times since opening & sadly I do feel that over the last few years the hotel is really going downhill (not just through Covid). The receptionist was very nice & no issues with check in or departure. We had 4 rooms & arrived at 7pm, all our rooms were freezing cold, I would recommend housekeeping put the heating on in the allocated rooms in the morning. Thankfully on this stay my room did not smell of damp/must (which I have had before) but my sons room did. Very poor choice of TV channels & poor sound. I pulled back the curtains in the morning to let natural light in & was shocked to see how dirty the windows & frames where, thick black dust, dead spiders & cobwebs. I totally understand you are operating a limited food menu but the choice for dinner was poor - lasagna, spicy mac n cheese, tai green curry or chicken tikka for mains. My 2 sons ordered nachos as a starter & again very poor quality. My son went to make a coffee & 2 of the sachets had been used & put back upside down in the container. Breakfast was no better im afraid in fact I actually spat out the sausage! Very sad to see what was a lovey hotel once go downhill so much. We had travelled from Essex to attend my Mums funeral & as a family we dont like to complain & I would not have said anything to the staff there under the circumstances.

Stayed in the hotel 4 days a week for past 8 months. Staff are all very helpful and good natured despite the current difficulties in their industry. Hotel facilities are all closed due to pandemic but will probably use gym and pool when they re-open. Definite 10/10

On arrival I have been chosen as a guest of the day so they located me in a suite instead of normal room. I been given a complimentary bottle of wine and desert and been treated with dinner delivered to my room. Really nice gesture. Hotel was nice, food was lovely. The only minus was the air conditioning in the room didn't work and I couldn't switch off the light next to the bed which was annoying in the night. Lovely stay in this difficult time

The first room I stayed in was really dusty and the bathroom not as clean as it should be: mould around taps and shower screen. The second room was better, but the toilet flush was broken. The menu is incredibly limited and expensive. A £5 charge to deliver the room is excessive. The staff were all very helpful.

Difficult times at present and service was ok. Sheet to complete for breakfast and pick up time, when you went to pick it up you had a 10 - 15 minute wait. I had room temp set at max but room was still cold not sure if it was working correctly, I noticed some rooms had been given an extra heater ? Toilet sink was not properly cleaned before I went in and 3 out of the six spotlights in the toilet were out. Shower only had 1 temperature, you increased it and it got warmer for 2 seconds then returned to it's normal temp. This was extremely frustrating. Long walk to pick up meals, never offered room service.

The Hotel itself is only a stone throw away from the M6. Room was quiet, clean and enormous. I can see this site to be a popular one as has good amenities when not in lockdown.

Very positive overall. I usually stay at the Ibis Haydock further down the road (roughly once a week for business) - the Mercure is slightly more expensive but I did enjoy it. Do you offer any special rates for repeat business travellers?
