Very nice hotel. Best part is the beach and the crazy animation team! From aerobics to games to dancing they were always keeping us entertained. Gracias for the great time!!! I just wish the food was more varied. The staff of the hotel were also friendly and helpful. We had a few hiccups initially but everything was resolved quickly and professionally.

Very pleasant Vacation

Pullman Cayo Coco Hotel Senior couple visited 1-week stay mid-May 2023 This was our fifth vacation in Cuba, 1st time with Pullman. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our overall impression of the hotel was positive. This is Cuba, so one shouldn’t expect the food to be in the same class and yielding as much variety as the some of the hotels of Mexico, Jamaica and most other tourist destinations in the Caribbean. The menu was limited, but we were always able to get enough things we liked at all the buffet meals. Not so much at the snack bar that operated all day and the two beach bars which offered limited selections from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM each day. There was not a wide selection of bread, and we never saw hamburgers, pizza or hot dogs at any of the food places. It is clear that Cuba has not yet fully recovered from the challenges of the pandemic. The ice cream was irresistible, and there was an abundance of pineapple, papaya and guava fruit as well as mangoes on most days. We tried the a la carte French restaurant where I had the lobster and my wife, the fish for the main course. The lobster was quite good. Our number one reason for going to Cuba is the beach, and it did not disappoint. Clear white sand and translucent waters varying in hue from azure blue to dark blue. To our pleasant surprise the Sargassum weeds we had heard were ubiquitous throughout the Caribbean were minimal, and did not interfere with our enjoyment of the warm sea. Perhaps because it was not high season, we had no problem finding vacant shaded palapas and beach chairs even later in the day. The grounds are extensive and well looked after with hens and their chicks always in sight, and a few cats around. With the spacious grounds and a long, wide beach we were able to get in our walks in every day. Our room was comfortable and clean with a fridge always stocked with bottled water and beer. We had no problem with hot water in the shower, or the Air Conditioning. The staff were generally helpful. We did find that sometimes service was a little slow in the dining room. Internet was free and we were able to get good reception even in our room, although we understood that was not necessarily the case in buildings further from the lobby. Some surprises: There was no soap in the washroom. Also, we never saw any bananas. All in all, we would be quite happy to go there again.

WASTE OF TIME AND MONDY

I had been at the resort with my family from May 15th to 22nd, 2023 and had terrible experience. Flight takes you there at 10:00 am and you receive room only at 4:00 pm and nothing to eat, except snack bar that has no menu and only one server/chef and long line up. They don't provide beach towels so what a waste of whole day in waiting to receive a room. Heat waiter ASHAKEEL working at Italian Restaurant is extremely disturbed soul with lots of attitude and extremely rude. Vacation meant to enjoy and pay additional money and find something better because this property is run down tiles broken in all swimming pools, elevator not functional and almost all rooms have sanitary issues with water leakage. Food has only one restaurant and same menu every day and no Yogurt/ Salad dressing/peanut tbutter and other stuff. Save yourself of misery, if you avoid going there.

Great to relax

I am really sad to write this review. My husband cut open the bottom of his foot during a game organized by the resort. He sliced open his foot while jumping into the pool the ledge was as sharp as a knife. Nobody from the resort helped us- he was gushing blood and we could not stop it. He bled into the pool (which they didn't clean) and all over the tiles and it took them hours to even clean that up. After my husband came out of the pool people were screaming "blood, blood"- they did not stop the resort game they continued the game and did not help us. Luckily a fellow Canadian came to tell us that the resort had a doctor. Travelers were rushing to help us but none of the workers were concerned. After arriving to the doctor office only the nurse was there no doctor. They had to call us an ambulance and we went to a local clinic and my husband got 6 stitches. we had to pay $180 CAD and the resort tried to tell me that they paid for the service and that I should not complain. After a meeting with management I was in complete disbelief. They did not care that my husband got hurt, they did not even know what happened, they refused to give me the incident report. I asked them if they had fixed the ledge yet because someone else can get hurt and her response was "what are you talking about" I told them my husband can't go back to work now how will we pay our bills, the lady laughed at me and said don't you live in Canada I am sure you have an insurance. I then met with the General Manager who did apologize for the inconvenience and was a very nice man and he apologized for the behavior of his staff. The resort wanted to offer me a free future trip, a refund and an extended stay but wanted us to sign a paper that they are not liable. I will not be doing this as I will be taking the legal route. MY husband might have permanent damage on his tendon. The next day we found out that his foot had a major infection and that they could not find us antibiotics. Luckily after much persistent from myself they did find him the medication and i paid $40 for it but they could not give me a receipt.
