This is an appreciation email for Karl from Reading branch, I came into check in and was expecting normal casual service but this time it was not the same, Karl was just fantastic, he knew what I was looking for, he appreciated me for the business and he was extremely polite & attentive. I had a wonderful time at Reading IBIS hotel and I have recommended this hotel to all of my colleagues, friends and family. Thank you again Karl for such outstanding service.

Staff was friendly and accommodating, I asked for help bcs my tv had only few channels working and rest was breaking but this could not be fixed. Mould under the shower and yogurts for breakfast were 5 days out of date, this was however swiftly replaced by staff, building is old and floors sealing extremely squeaking, Great location though

it was good, apart from the as soon s soon as we arrived. My Daughter arrive before me, so they demanded the cost of the room on her arrival. I was paying for the 3 rooms, it was birthday present to my 2 daughters . Normally they charge you at the end of the stay.

- no water pressure in shower, impossible to wash long hair with nonexistent water pressure - also shower was cold (especially during nights), only had one hot shower during stay - room was extremely cold when I arrived, had to keep winter coat on - room not properly clean, stains in carpet, fingerprints on walls - breakfast not available at 6:30 even though promised - I understand the limitations of old buildings (i.e. no elevator), but dark hallways with steep stairs are very dangerous. Keep the lights on in hallways! Would like to thank the wonderful staff, they were very polite and helpful!

Good breakfast and clean but downhill from there. Room was furnished like a student bedsit and shower head in bathroom about 4 feet high with minimal water pressure

Terrible, place is filthy and a complete maze. First room I was put in had a broken window which was stuck open making it absolutely freezing during storm Ciara. Second room, stinking. No sheets on the bed only a mattress topper. Radiators off so freezing when I got in. No radiator in the bathroom and the shower didn't work. The building should be condemned I won't be back. On reflection I shouldn't even have stayed the night, should have just walked out when I saw the state of the place.

Awoke in middle of the night to sound of coat hangers rattling in wardrobe. Very uncomfortable.

Booked for one night's stay to commute to London the next day via train. Perfectly located to reach the station, took around 5 to 10 minutes walk. Right in among a host of restaurants and shops and plenty of parking options available. The room was clean and had everything I needed, ironing facilities in the room would have been a bonus. The breakfast was good, cold continental with pastries, muffins, meats and cheeses and coffee and juices. Overall, exactly what I needed and provided excellent service.

A smoking room was assigned whereas non smoking room was required. Replacement room was dirty, especially in the bathroom. No lift accessible.

Single bed smaller than I’ve ever seen, freezing cold room, smallest hotel room ever. Couldn’t find the room and it was up three flights of stairs with no lift (unfortunately harder for me at four months pregnant). The hotel smelt of curry (even from my cell on the top floor). Wouldn’t ever stay again.

I'm a regular customer with this particular Ibis in Reading and always given the benefit of the doubt, however this time the hygiene standard was particularly bad in the bathroom. The toilet bowl looked like it hadn't been cleaned and the bath was not pleasant either. My room was a family room it was very cold I had to get a heater from reception to keep warm. The bed sheet's didn't even cover the double bed I had. I just feel the standard has gone down over the past year or so and I wasn't particularly keen on the Asian themes on the walls. I don't think I will be staying in this Ibis again for a while.

Located in the centre of Reading, close to shops, bars and restaurants. Rooms are basic but clean, with all the amenities that you need for a short stay. The staff member on reception was very pleasant and cheerful. Continental breakfast was really good, plenty to choose from. Limited car parking behind the hotel but there is parking available under contract close by.

This really is a dreadful place...the staff were very pleasant and efficient though. But the smells? The attached restaurant is an Indian and also serves as the Breakfast room, etc. Now I don’t mind an Indian meal, but I don’t want it in my bedroom or a reminder of it lingering in the morning...Room 1.09 was directly above the kitchen.

Basic hotel, not the cleanest, also my room had a sign in the window saying the management were aware it was broken, it was literally duct taped up, and looked like it had been like that for a while. I have photo evidence of this.
