We only stayed for one night on a road trip around the top end of Northern Territory. It’s one of the few resorts in the area so has a a bit of a monopoly on the accommodation options. Our room was large and in a great location near the restaurant and the pool. The only negative it was also near the trees that hundreds of cockatoos roost in from sunset making an incredible noise ( and huge mess) - not sure what can be done about this issue. The woman on the reception at checkin was very friendly and extremely helpful- she suggested booking the restaurant and also assisted in booking a tour on a crocodile experience. She had a good knowledge of the local area and made some good suggestions for walks. The restaurant offered a buffet for dinner and breakfast and as Accor members we took this option. The dinner offered a good selection of dishes and the only negative was my husband doesn’t eat cakes ( the only dessert options) and when asked if he could have some of the ice cream ( from a refrigerated case) and was told he could purchase it. The breakfast was a totally different experience. We arrived after a large bus load of people had just finished their breakfast. Most tables were piled high with dirty plates and we struggled to find a clean table. Then when we went to access the buffet there were no bowls or glasses. We had to get the lady on the desk to get some from the kitchen and she informed us they were understaffed. Many of the dishes were low and there was only a few slices of bread left in the bread bins. The biggest issue was the self serve espresso coffee machines were both broken. Friends had stayed at the hotel a few weeks before us and they told us one machine was broken during their visit. The only option for a coffee was to get one from the barista. The poor woman had a huge queue of people waiting for coffee. We had to leave early to get to a tour and after waiting over 15 minutes gave up. Think it might be an area to have a percolator as a back up for these occasions. Generally we would certainly recommend this hotel for visitors to this area.

Very enjoyable experience. However, although the general areas of the hotel were very good and well appointed, the rooms were quite shabby. Bathrooms needed a definite upgrade! Also, quite a damp smell was around in the room. All the outside areas needed a good clean. However, slept well and enjoyed a good breakfast. Dinner at night was only reasonable. We felt although the staff were generally pleasant, they seemed to be too busy to provide a 4 star service.

Understaffed. The restaurant could only feed 18 people at one time. It had seating for 200. We had been on a bus trip arriving with 50 guests and the hotel couldn't be ready for this number of guests? The staff were friendly and helpful. With so few guests we were placed at the rear rooms . Why?

Apart from a booking mix up with our two friends that were travelling with us we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great hot buffet breakfast and found the staff very friendly.

Staff great rooms clean ,check in a little long with a bus load of people maybe could hand out forms on the bus to fill in prior to arrival .

The surrounds were very run down. The garden area was not maintained and there was bird poo everywhere. The rooms were OK but still not spotless (windows dirty).

Pleasant atmosphere, comfortable clean room, air conditioned, meals tasty, Staff accommodating and friendly. Calcium needs to be removed in bath tub, shame about the birds, all night noise. Would visit again.

We found the Mercure Crocodile Hotel to be very comfortable and pleasantly decorated. We especially appreciated the art work from First Peoples. The staff were courteous and efficient. The breakfast that was supplied with our booking was entirely adequate and the evening meal was very good, although the portions were very large. We would highly recommend this hotel.

The resort is definitely a landmark built in the 80’s abd still frozen in time ... stay for a day no longer... everything is very tired and needs a refurb... ie curtains that don’t match, mouldy shower screens, pool that is not crystal clear... breakfast needs more fresh fruit as you would expect in the heat... The staff are delightful and very friendly a positive and I had the best hamburger I have ever eaten. Overall value for money in consideration to the state of the rooms .... poor

We had been told not to expect much as the croc is very run down. More than run down. The room in the tail end are worse than terrible! I know you are short staffed but when there are dirty plates and glasses outside your room when you check in and they are still there when you leave 2 days later I call that slack!!!... the shower/bath had pink mould in the corners the spare pillow was used and the inside was so mouldy... and as for outside the room that needs so much work gardens spider eggs it just goes on. In the other hand the food was sensational and we congratulated them and the staff in there were so lovely. We asked to be moved as heard 2 other couples moved but we weren’t allowed to unless we paid more ( they had not)

The maintenance of this place is atrocious the bathrooms were filthy with ingrained dirt and mould the rooms are in disrepair. Outside facilities were absolutely disgusting covered in bird poo and no where sit outside our room tables and chairs tipped over and filthy. The staff were excellent and I felt sorry for their embarrassment. Management is non existent.

The room I had was very very dirty. I have photographs to prove it, and showed them to reception on leaving. To be charge $189 for a room as dirty as this is disgraceful. I also have difficult dietary requirements, due to allergies, and there was nothing on the menu I could normally eat, so had to eat something I wouldn't usually. Between booking to go to the restaurant for the following night, and turning up on the night I was booked for, the booking was 'lost' even though I'd had long discussions about my diet with the staff, before booking. Apart from this the staff were very helpful in all but one case.
