Friendly staffs, nice food & drink have made my stay enjoyable despite the bathroom-water incident, which added my further knowledge about Ibis hotel interior. It's well located close to Gramedia bookstore (unfortunately closed due to Covid-19) suitable for bookworms like me.

The last day I stay there's a problem with the water in the bathroom, the water is black and not good to take a bath. I understand that because there's a problem with the water tank, but why its happening during early in the morning when people actually take a bath. And I know these happen not to me only but all of the guest of the hotel. I hope the next time it should have emergency response to avoid such thing to happen again.

Good job in implementing health protocol during Covid-19 pandemic. Staffs are friendly. If you have enough money, it is better to invest in thermal scanner (like malls and airports have) so the guests do not have to interact with security staffs that measure temperature using thermal gun.

200 nights every year I stay at hotel rooms around asia. and by far this is my worst experience. If this was 3 star hotel I wouldnt complain, but this is branded as 5 stars really?? I was placed in room 761 if not mistaken and then at the same night requested to be moved to 724, the manager and receptionis was very helpful. I booked grand mercure because as a accor live limitless member i know i would be really taken care off, and in fact before staying here i was in surakarta staying at M gallery and the experience was really good. There were many other hotel options to choose in Yogyakarta however my decision at the end was to choose grand mercure because of the international name and my past experiences at other grand mercures around asia. Seriously is this a 5 stars hotel? Coffee mugs got lot of coffee stains from previous guests Toilet was super dirty, black marks on the basin, shower head had lot of mineral stains, shower floor had black marks everywhere, even I decided not to shower 724 was slightly better but not up to 5 stars, maybe the senior management level need to really come and visit this hotel quietly and experience what i had experience. for me this would be the last time choosing mercure as well as grand mercure, time to move to other hotel which definitely wiill give me a better experience

Dear Mr Ben Castle, As rquested to submit review, pls find below is our review: Book at deluxe room by phone through a reception on oct 29th, we were upgraded to suite room. As a platinum member we thought this upgrade is a common SOP upgrade. What a surprise, without our permission, the hotel deduct our suite upgrade reward automatically. We already double check with assistant manager but got unsatisfactory explanation. Much more than that, the points stay rewards that should be credited up till now, it is not yet credited We need more clarification on the two cases abow and request our suite upgrade rewards to bredited to our account.
