Best staff so far at Privilege Lounge at Mercure Hotel Singapore on Stevens. Sofia and Antony. Nothing is too much trouble for them. And always with a lovely smile and warm personality. They took care of everything. Really appreciate your kind gestures. Keep up the best work.

Rooms are tiny; poorly designed and not well maintained

Could not believe how small this room was. Stayed for 5 nights Sep 23 and struggled to fit 2 suitcases in the room. The bathroom light could only be switched on by the bed and the entrance light also came on with it. Our basin sink was blocked and the maintenance guy fixed but when hubby filled to shave the plug was stuck so couldn’t drain it. Went to use ironing board and it was broken. Suspect someone tried to store their luggage on it due to lack of other options. The hotel overall was underwhelming. Breakfast was average. Shuttle bus was handy but couldn’t cater for number of guests. Concierge were great assisting with taxi bookings. We also had a lot of issues at check in with our booking confirmation saying we had paid but the hotel stating we had not. Once showed confirmation they said ok then later contacted us to say they had checked and we hadn’t. We had booked over 9 months prior with multiple hotels for our travel as well as future Europe travel so had assumed based on the confirmation we had paid. We had to look up our bank statements to verify. We travelled with 5 other couples some who had different experiences despite having same confirmation. It was a mess. They said that is just how the system prints saying balance owing zero but you haven’t actually paid. They need to fix the system.
