Mercure Singapore On Stevens 4 stars

really happy with my 4 night stay here. Great staff, always helpful. Room is a standard sized city hotel room, good for 2 people but compact. Nice bed. Bathroom is likewise small but has everything you need. The room was quite with good blackout curtains. I did not use the pools or fitness room, but they looked very nice. Breakfast is really good - full western style fare and also Asian, fresh omelets, fresh fruit, beacon etc. Lots of dinner / lunch options to eat from more formal to very casual. There is a 7-11 shop on site also so that was useful. 20 minutes by taxi to the city center, 10 minutes car to Orchard Road (could walk it in 25 minutes) , 30 minutes the airport. Did not use public transport so can't comment on that. It was about USD 200 a night including breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.

My girlfriend is in a wheelchair. The hotel has rooms with guardrails near the toilet for her. And the staff was very helpfull. Our room has a very nice view over the city. We got a welcome drink and some bites. The managers is in the picture. She was very friendly.

The hotel was one of the best service. Our receptionist Tong En / Tongen was really helpful. The friendliness quite surprising for us, and im coming from Bali. The bell boy (Sawa or shawan) was also very helpful, gave us extra bottle of water right away (this is huge considering Singapore is so hot). The room also clean no complaint.

Overall, our stay was great. It started off really well. We were very happy with the location, all the facilities and food options just outside the hotel. We were so happy with our choice. Unfortunately our last day/night impacted the overall experience. On our last day, when we were having breakfast, I noticed the chili sauce and tomato sauce looked the same. So I asked the man behind the counter, which one was chili. He laughed and pointed at the chili in front of the bowl and said "this is chili." Then pointed at the tomato and said "this is tomato." He proceeded to look at this colleage and chuckle at my supposed naive question. So I brushed it off, and scooped up what he said was chili sauce. But when I tried it, it was in fact tomato sauce. So I went back to him and said "I'm sorry. You made fun of me earlier. But Y=you may want to try it because it doesn't taste like chili." First he said "Cannot be." So I stood there and watched him as he tried the sauce. He recognized that I was correct and said "I'm sorry. Someone misplaced it." The second incident was that we noticed that our room still had not been changed in the afternoon, since leaving our room at 10AM. This wasn't a big deal, we were able to see the housekeeping on our floor and just asked if they could clean our room next. When we got back to our room in the evening, as I was about to shower, I noticed that our bath soap was empty on soap and wasn't refilled. So we called housekeeping to bring new soap to refill. Admittedly, it was already 10PM so maybe housekeeping was on skeletal staff. But it took over an hour to get soap. We needed to call housekeeping/front desk 2-3 times. My husband even went down to the front desk to ask if anyone was coming otherwise we would just go to 7/11 near by and buy soap. They insisted that housekeeping was coming. My husband got back to the room, and maybe another 10-15 mins the soap finally arrived. This is the only negative issue we had, but it was unfortunately the last impression we had of the hotel. We do intend to stay again, because of the location, we just hope that service is better and more prompt.

Clean room, good choice of utilities. Ultimate front desk is da best.
