Lovely welcome…room made up even though I was 2 hours early. No problem. Xmas gift of sSnickers and a Twix! Great room on 5th floor . Spotless. The folded towels… made me smile! Food good. Curries and a pint of IPA spot on. I suspect I will come back here. Well done Mercure Haymarket

If I could give 0 stars, I would. The room offered was an accessible room. Went to reception to advise this... told they do not segregate accessible rooms and those with mobility issues and no other room available. Not good enough, and I'm not sure what the staff member was suggesting. I am not in any way against anyone with accessibility issues. I have family members with similar issues. Chocolate and card were supposed to be left as a complimentary offer as it was a special occasion. Not done, either. Bathroom wet room floor lifting, toileting keeps overflowing, room was freezing heating didn't work, plug socket next to bed not working, window faces a wall what a lovely view we had. Mini fridge stocked only with two cans of water and a can of diet in bru... and bedding was so thin, pillows are thin and misshapen. Honestly, it takes a lot for me to complain and write a review. I genuinely am very disappointed with this hotel, won't ever stay here again. What a waste of £240 i genuinely would suggest not staying here. Unless obviously your budget doesn't allow for it. This hotel did not exceed my expectations, unfortunately, and put quite the damper on our night out in Edinburgh.
